If something that looks like a Rod but rides on a later pickup chassis fit's your definition then these guys do mainly 30's Chevy models on Nissan chassis that can be fitted with V8's. These come as true 'kits' in varying stages;
AUSTRALIAN KIT CAR Based in outer Sydney, NSW.

Don't dick around. Give Ken at Deuce Customs a ring (03)9752-2706 for the body and give Lewis chassis a call (03)5122-1416. Most people i know wont touch Rod City since Dennis left. The body will set you back between $7,000 and $10,000 depending on what you want and the chassis will cost you about $11,000 for the basic set up. No one here dose what you would call a kit because the market here isn't big enough for it. If you give these guys a call they will be more than happy to help you out.

A general question for anyone in the know.
Do you actually need any original components to build a rod? I know repro bodies and chassis are readily available but if it's all new how come it's not an ICV (Individually Constructed Vehicle) in the eyes of the Rego authorities that must comply with todays ADR's? Don't you need an old chassis number or something?
