Default New dash moulding, T-bar surround

Hi all

Last week I visited FTG autosalvage and picked up the dash moulding, clock/computer/climate controller and t-bar surround out of that smashed T1 TE50 that the have.
On Monday, after Brenden finished the final tune on the car, I asked him if he would be so kind as to install the items.

This is the result...

...all I need know is a chrome push button for the t-bar.

Cheers
Gerry

very nice..... i usually like fake woodgrain over fake carbonfibre but that looks damn nice

good stuff

nb.... i thought the T series climate / tbar surround was just solid silver, not CF lookalike.

Thanks mate. From far away and at certain angles it could be mistaken for solid silver and like you said it's still better than the woodgrain.

NOPE, the only way to do it is to get the standard xr surround and plastic chrome the whole lot then tape off and paint.
Looked into it, waste of time and money really. :

I think I was looking at your interior thinking it was gezas, anyhow, looks MINT. :
Who and where did you get it done, if you don't mind me asking, as I want mine done eventually.

Finished product, you can sort of see the surround (bloody handbrake).

Getting Leather interior next, thinking of going to Auto Image in Thomastown to get it done as they seem to do a nice job for what I've seen.

Gerry, that looks fantastic. Very subtle/tasteful mod for the interior.

I'd love to own a T1/T2 one day...

I just all the chrome bits for my ute to put in (door handles, shifter surround, handbrake and boot) ... i am still after the autoshifter button though.

But I got the handbrake boot and lever in leather with chrome button as well.

I just need to get the time to put all the new stuff in

You can put a chrome shifter in an XR. You will need to add the power/econ button. You could even wire the button up to a shift kit.

And yes it has been done before. Mal did it.

Hi and thanks for all the positive comments guys.
All up they charged $450...a bargain imo, for orginal items like these in mint condition.

Cheers

Hi Mick, I know you can't see it in the pics but I don't have leather interior as yet. FTG autosalvage had the original black leather interior/trim from the same T1 TE50 that all the imitation carbon fibre items ,that I purchased, came from but they wanted $2500 for them. The wife said "NO"...:(

I know what its like, I want to do a few small things to my interior, mainly paint pieces silver, but my wife likes it the way it is and wants to keep it that way! Yet every time I suggest a mod she's not sure, I do it and she loves it! Can't bloody win either way!!!

I can't remember how he did it. But he got the black Falcon/Futura Auto Surround the power/econ button, and the chrome surround. And yeah, put it, and all good.

If your interested, I will have the parts, to do it. As I'm swapping over to manual. I'll have the other parts (including button), except for the chrome surround, which is $10 from Ford.

Should have bought it, Like the bloke from FTG Auto says "Its easier to plead forgiveness"

I was thinking about grabbing it also, though for not much more you can get a custom job. so much the muchness and depends on the look you are after I guess

romaniac got his interior done at CVE Trimmers, or something like that. In Thomastown. He was originally going to get it done at Auto Image, but decided with these guys. And the finish is excellent!
