Has anyone noticed that subway are quickly starting to suck?
First off they decided they would reduce their meat sizes and only put up a tiny 5cm sticker saying it was going to happen now that I could handle. Secondly they hit you up for double cheese bacon and ever second they could and thats 70c for just cheese!!! I can get 30 slices for that. Studying marketing and seeing that really ИИИИes me off. They decide to annoy me some more buy having the district manager go around the stores and make them put on 50% less topping yes he even said it himself. Now that really annoyed me! So its bad enough now but then I find out it cost them 0.7c to make a cookie and they sell them for 85c what is that like more then 8500% mark up! They have also decide lets get rid of the subway club cards so we can scam people a little harder which is even more annoying they say 'fraud' but we all know its cause they want more money who do they think they are tricking. They have finally made me crack today when I went into the Brisbane store to see... You have to order on a computer now! You have to get on this gay *** touch screen machine and select your sub and then it prints out a receipt and they call your name.. sounds like just another way to cut back on staff. Wasn't the point of subway that you got to watch them make it? Now you sit down and wait for you number to be called out to get a flat pathetic sub that wouldnt pass for food in a third world country. The most annoying thing of all about the machine is its countless attempts to upsize your meal, add on bacon + extra cheese do they need to flog us anymore with their rip off addons. Thats my Rant... I HATE SUBWAY!

That computer concept has not started in Melbourne yet, or not that i know of. It's true subway has slipped over its duration in Australia.

Thats crap. I like subway mainly because I get to see them make it so I know its half fresh as opposed to Maccas or HJs where they make it 30mins before I ordered. I hate it now that they are all starting to cut back on filling. Soon we'll be paying 5 bucks for a bun with no filling.

I dont have it that often, it seems over priced to me, for two of us to eat and drink, it costs over 20 bucks. For a "take away" meal, thats too much, and its not that healthy, not the subs I like anyway.

Subway are great except they're expensive and not filling. I have a foot long sub and I feel like I've just eaten some very, very tasty air... :

thats a ripper comment ! - i feel exactelly the same way - i ahve noticed alot of times too latelly that their rolls have been half stale , real crispy dry ends , and yeah i ate the chicken fillet 1's for ages and the fillets have got smaller to over time , subways suck now - like most take aways do ... as the old saying goes "wan't something done propper , u gotta do it yaself " ... too true .... and yeah the prices even since the start have been a tadd high , like at least 50% too high ! .. around $8 for a foot long sub .. some poor bastards have to work at least half an hour just to eat a roll !!! ( dudes who earn around $16 an hour ) ... thats just pathetic pricing.. :sm_headba |

When I was up on the Gold Coast over Christmas I partook in a few subs and instantly noticed the tight@rsedness of the franchises up there compared to Sydney. VERY stingy on the fillings and I had to continually interrupt the "girl" and ask for more of everything.
The cards aren't being phased out here in NSW, I asked the manager at my regular place (Thornleigh) and he confirmed it. They are on the edge of value now though, with so many more fillings costing extra, and the constant upsells they try. If only there was a Red Rooster close to home!!!!!

I know the one down here in Brisbane is particularly bad compared to everywhere else. When in line the guy infront of me asked for extra filling to which they replied No everyother subway puts to much on this is all your allowed to have any they will be cutting back at other stores to. He complained to the district manager guy there who said nope not giving you anymore thats all you can have and it was pathetic how much they gave him. He accepted it asked for a student deal to which the guy said No we don't do student deals your all a bunch of messy baxxstards and dont clean up after yourself so we don't see why we should give you deals. I find the one in Brisbane Myer centre is very bad compred to others but the concept of no topping and upsell like no tomorrow seems to be getting around to the other ones now.

This is similar to that boost juice thread. Almost $10 for a sandwich is WAY too expensive. Don't people know how to slap a sandwich together at home? All of the ingredients used by subway (except for the bread rolls) can be purchased at your local supermarket.

I once got the tip of one of those plastic gloves in my sub(yum yum).
Not much hope for customer service if the district manager has that philosohy. If he really is the district manager and just some knob trainee(or even worse the store owner). I dont eat anywhere in the Myer Centre if I can avoid it. Its all low quality food and small portions for high $$. |

Subway rocks. I always get a footlong that's bursting with meat and salads, and generally pay at the staff discount rate... It helps to know the gorgeous girl behind the counter from school hahahaha

firstly, its a freakin salad roll, it aint a Sub, it sure as hell isnt a Baguette, and it isnt a Royale with cheese! its a freakin salad roll.
Secondly, sure they make it infront of you, you may think its fresh, but that doesnt mean the ingredients havent been sitting there for the last 2 days. Thirdly, if you dont like the price of it, dont bloody buy it. You are the consumer, choose to consume elsewhere. Is it expensive? Yes. Is it crapulent? Yes. Is the BMT possibly full of donkey meat and horse anus? Hell yeah! In the fourth, James, the fact that your footlong is bursting with meat while you talk to the subway girl is rather disconcerting. Do Adelaide a favour, and lose your cherry already.

I have Subway once every two months, simply because it's too f**kin expensive for what it is. You can buy the ingredients for around the same price and get 4 or 5 sandwiches...
