After reading the most depressing song uv ever head thread I thought I'd star one about the best instrumental you've ever heard. I want the find a bunch of realy good ones with awesome guitar solos that give you shivers to put on a cd.

It rocks ! AC/DC P.s. anyone who listens hard will realise that most of AC/DC's rythym section is simple chords, , but masterfully written and played. They have been playing 5 chords in different array for 30 years, and still do it great ! |

Jeez people he said instrumentals. That means no singing :P
Dream theatre have a few good ones. They also have a side project called "liquid tension experiment" that is just instrumentals. Have a look at them. Theyre brilliant. "Ytse jam" is a really good one. Metallica's "to live is to die" is another good one. I used to have heaps but they all went bye bye when we got a new computer. If you like Metallica you HAVE to check out Apocolyptica. They play a heap of Metallica song on cellos. Very Very well done and some a quite haunting. Especially when driving along in the middle of no where on a dark evening with rain setting in. |

You have great taste in music! And, yes, A Change of Seasons is friggin' brilliant! Also, where did you get Suspended Animation? I can't find it anywhere. Some of my favourite instrumental songs; Dream Theater - Stream of Consciousness Joe Satriani - Surfing with the Alien Steve Vai - Erotic Nightmares Anyone that's into this sort of music, I recommend the latest G3 DVD/CD Live in Tokyo. Vai, Satriani and Petrucci It doesn't get much better than that.

With Dreamtheater material, they have many great pieces within their songs that could be brilliant instrumentals in their own right. Quote:

God to see there are a few DT fans around. Theyre incredible. Petrucci = robot. The guy is just freakishly fast. Is that a DT album cover as your avatar? It just looks really familiar. I forgot one of my favorites before. Steve Vai - For the love of god. If you can find it the guitar dual from the movie "Crossroads". No not the Britany Spears movie. The one with steve vai in it. I know its not an instrumental but half of the song is: Dream Theatre - Glass Prison. |

Another couple of great instrumentals would be a few by Jeff Healey (the blind guy out of Roadhouse with Patrick Swayze), one is Hideaway, the other is See The Light |

Yes my avatar is Dreamtheater's 'Train of Thought' album cover. Wish Dreamtheater had enough fans for them to justify coming all this way. What i would do to see them live. Oh another song from them (not an instrumental but half of it is) that i love and i love to play is 'Goodnight Kiss'. |
