Default 1600 x-flow mk2 cortina need help!!!

hey guys,

would like some advice on building a 1600 x-flow engine for my mk2 cortina. its running a 1300 at the moment and i just want it to have enough power to get to speed without raping the old girl. its gotta be reliable and dont want a racer, but i was thinking of a 1600 with extractors, maybe a mild cam and some sort of duel carb on it.

any info on this would be great. eg. what year engine to use (cortina or escort ect.) what carbs/ intake to use, what extractors and if my 1300 gearbox will need to be replaced. thanks guys!!

Can't go far wrong with a 1600GT style Kent. Single Weber is more than enough. That's what I had built for my Capri years ago.
