Default Cars you wish you never sold / bought:

I'm not sure if this has been posted before (feel free to delete if it has)

This is my list of cars I wish I never sold:
1. '68 Impala SS coupe - great car, just sold it 'cos I was bored with it!?
2. XB GS coupe - 351/4spd/etc .. sold it for $3K to buy a house .. got calls about it for 2months
3. '71 F100 - 6cyl auto .. sold it 'cos it wasn't a V8
4. VH Charger 770 - REAL nice car .. sold it 'cos it was a manual and it was a pain to drive in traffic(??)
5. '65 Dodge Phoenix - another "got bored with" car ..

Cars I wish I never bought:
1. '68 Pontiac Safari wagon - rustbucket
2. '82 Jeep Cherokee - got ripped off for the price, it was a POS
3. '70 Plymouth Fury 'vert - bought based upon inspection report from QLD .. not worth half the price paid

There are a lot of other cars, but these I was happy with their service but not upset at seeing them go (eg. a plethora of Valiants, XC GXL, more F100s, etc, etc .. )

I wish i never got a Nissan Pulsar Turbo , wasn't worth selling cause the next buyer would of got ripped... so the turbo setup and interior was sold, then rest of car went to wreckers.. the car had heaps of power for what it was... though it needed a new engine, but the turbo setup was in A+ condition ..

Actually, I wish I had never sold my 1999 Festiva GLXi 5 door, 1.5L, 5 speed.

I bought it new when I was a student and single parent after the crap heap Sigma died. It was dark blue/purple and I had 16 inch wheels on it, and a decent sound system put in it. It was my first brand new car and it was bullet proof. I thrashed it for 4 years and drove it a lot. We travelled a lot in it and nothing ever went wrong with it. Not a thing. Was a lot more reliable than the BA I traded it in for! And it ran on about $10 a week in fuel back then (a lot of driving each week).

I bought the BA in 2003 and sold the Festi a couple of months after for heaps of cash (I had really looked after it and it was imacculate, although thrashed) as the people who bought it got their brother who was a mechanic to look at for a day - came back and said it was perfect.

Now I wish I had kept it because it was so cheap to run and we are now looking at buying a second hand small car to run around because of petrol prices! And also we are going to have to buy something for my daughter when she gets her licence.

I know generally Festis are buckets of crap but this one was really good and soooo cheap to run!!!

Edit: I wish I had never bought the Sigma above. 1984 black GSR 2.6L 5 speed. Most unreliable car I have ever driven and I spent more money on that than any other car I have owned. Terrible engine.

Ha ha ha - funny you should say that. My daughter is just selling her 99 Festiva Trio S because she can't afford to run two cars and has to keep her ute to tow the horse float. Same colour as yours and all ...

They really are a bullet proof car for a young driver.

Even though yes i'm a ford guy through and through, at one point I owned an HZ Premier, in absolutely IMMACULATE condition.. 1 owner from QLD, every single piece on it was like new and original, down to the hubcaps, original purchase receipt in the glove box + every single receipt for any work ever done.. got it for $1700 with 10mths rego..

Was broke as hell and rego was coming up, needed a daily driver so sold it for an amount I don't even want to say, just to buy a cheapie registered laser.. i've spent more on a big night out than what I sold it for..

Car I wish i'd never BOUGHT was my first (of 2 that i've owned) '88 LTD.. was a piece of crap.. nothing worked, died all the time, gearbox was fuggered, engine needed a rebuild.. Was one of my earlier cars so didn't know crap about cars back then (not that I know heaps now, but I can at least tell if it's alright).. lesson learnt: Always take someone who knows more than you when you buy privately :P

Well I'm happy to have sold the car I sold. I have only owned 2 cars and one of them was a 2001 nissan pulsar hatch and it was a lemon from the day we bought it brand new. Before I traded it in I had to take it to the dealer every 1000kms for oil consumption tests as it was chewing throught oo much oil all the time. In the end it was deemed the bottom end needed replacing. So I had that done and then traded it in for a 2004 BA XR8 ute. Somebody I knew bought the nissan pulsar and it has been in the shop with problems more times than it has been on the road. I feel sorry for the person that bought it and they probably hate me now.
But I did have problems with my ute. Had to get a new engine in that one too. But its been all smiles and go since then. Not one problem with it and I love it.
I think I have a curse though. Every car I have owned (all 2 of them) have needed new engines and the car I learnt to drive in cracked a head gasket and died shortly after I was finished driving it!

I wish i never sold my EF2 Fairmont Ghia. It was Argon Silver and had EL XR6 driveline right through it and Tickford suspension. I used to LOVE driving this thing.. smooth.. comfortable and a bit of power. The paint and body was immaculate. I ended up selling it for 4k with no rego or roady. But to me it was worth a mint.. :(

I wish i never bought my EL XR6 and kept the ghia.

I sold my genuine '69 mini cooper 'S' worked/ bored/ etc. because I needed the money, and I still cry over that. And living so close to the great ocean road it was the best thing. Ohh I miss her.

wish i never sold: 75 Mazda 929. wasnt anything special but had been passed through the family since it was brand new. had plenty of potential either as a drag car or a rotory conversion. got too rusty to bother with so it went to the wreckers. would have been a good car to put in the back of the shed and dig it out in 10-15 years time and fix it up.

car i wish i never bought: 2000 AU. good car but bit off more than i could afford financially. suffered as long as i could and had to give it back and keep paying for something i didnt have. payed too much for it as well. 1 year old base model car for 24k....lets see what i could get now for 24k thats no more than 2 years old.

I wish i never sold the capri, it was a beautiful car and to this day i regret selling it. I still cant look at pics of it without getting upset haha but my consolation is that i that i now have a life on the weekends without having to spend it working on millions of different problems that arose during just a week of driving it and i now have the sprint which i must say i love..........maybe more than the capri.

I regret selling my first EL XR6 sedan. I helped stick it together at Broadie and she was a stunner. No probs, in regency. Last time I saw it, third owner at Springnats with supercharger attached, still going stong. Rego OQN183!!

Worst car I bought as an EL 5.0Litre, lost 4500$ in six months.................
