Angry Damn Camry drivers!

Today I was driving along in traffic and noticed a Camry behind me - when I braked along with the rest of the traffic - moderate braking at best - I noticed this guy's grille disappear from view under my rear spoiler, meaning he was a bit late on the brakes. This happened twice. Then we turned a corner onto a road which led to the freeway on-ramp - I admit I was expecting the traffic to flow onto the freeway (it is a right hand turn) as there is little oncoming traffic on this road. The traffic stopped fairly sharply and I got caught out a little and had to brake harder from about 40km/h and pulled up cleanly. I felt I stopped less comfortably than I should have, fair enough, my error - it would have been my fault if I hit the car in front, but I didn't.

I then looked in the rear view and saw this Camry again also hit the brakes hard and just pull up, then he hit the horn - directed at me - and I could see he was agitated - yet it was his repeated inability to brake early enough or leave a safe gap that led to this near miss. So he stuffed up and then seems to direct blame at me. If he hit me he probably would have tried to pin the blame on me - even though it would have been a clear cut rear ender with him being at fault. It's one thing to stuff up, and another altogether to blame someone else for it.

The people targeted for "hooning" are usually drivers of performance cars, yet when I drive in traffic, usually a little quicker than what the sign says, I frequently get passed by Camrys, Magnas and an array of 4 cylinder buzzboxes, doing 20+km/h over the limit, after they take a while to wind up.

That is just pure bad driver and impatients. Damn Camry drivers
I was driving home from work the other day and it was fairly heavy traffic, I was in the left hand lane trying to pass slow moving vechiles and a bloody magna comes flying up the right hand side of me only to slam on his brakes due to the slow cars in the left lane and then I went cruising past him still in the right hand lane. I noticed he was let in the right lane about 3 cars behind me. Once I was passed the slow cars I pulled into the left lane and yep sure enough the hoon in a magna came flying past me only to stop at the traffic lights down the road. I turned right at the traffic lights and had a free right hand turn lane so I smiled at him as I drove past him stopped at the traffic lights.

Camry drivers and the "Suburban Assult Vehicle" drivers, are the new "Bloody Volvo Drivers" of the 21st century.

Give 'em room and keep clear!

There is always a Camry doing something wrong. Always!! Camry drivers are crap. They didn't buy a Camry because they enjoy driving, they got it because they are boring people in boring cars driving boringly, so much so, that they drive slooooow because they're just about asleep. They also listen to ABC radio and wear cardigans. Ooo, i know, i'll be a bit daring and get a Camry Sportivo. Naughty 16" alloys, skimpy body kit and rear wing. I'll look so cool when i rock up to bowls on Tuesday morning.

Give me a break!!!

I have so many terrible Camry stories that I could start my own section in the forums called "Camry Stories". The main offenders are the Sportivos! What an oxymoron! Camry Sport-anything!

Have a look at the tyres and wheels on it - sporty? Nope.

They only come in auto - sporty? Nope.

They come in 4 cyl and their biggest engine is a 6 cyl (no V8 or turbo) - sporty? Nope.

Ohhhh I forgot! They had a badge on the bootlid with Sportivo written on it in trendy colours (black, red etc)... then it MUST be sporty!!!!

BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!

Moron and camry seems to be the most commonly paired words.

A. You are a moron for buying one ...

B. Your are moron for driving like a moron in one ...

C. You are just generally a moron.

D. Everyone else knows it ...

4cyl buzzers seem to be biggest culprits of Tailgating ... I feckin hate it but make it common practice to slow down and box them in. Yeah, Ill get smacked out one day ... but thats what cricket bats are for. :

Pete, your lovely DevilR saves your butt, as well as the fact that you didnt design the contradictory Sportivo, you just bought one. Its the designers of the thing that have me bewildered as to what they think sporty is.

Camry as a second car, I can almost understand...

Hehe. We are probably going to sell the XR8 soon to very likely get something much worse than a Camry anyhow... something very cheap like a Festy!!!!

Camry Sportivo. Ah the Comaro of suburbs.I'm driving through the outer suburbs behind one of these rockets in a 70kph zone, we are coming up to a 100kph zone so I overtake him and he tries to accelerate with me,left him for dead etc.Come up to a 40kph road works and slow down accordingly, this idiot flies past me(almost taking out the flag bloke)then slows down allowing me to catch up with him.road works end 100kph zone coming up so I overtake him (as you do a slower car)as I go past he is screaming and thumping the steering wheel, I gave him a little wave when I got past him and when I look in my rear vision mirror here he is still screaming and rocking backward and forward on his steering wheel..Poor bastead...

Ahhh Camrys... the best thing about them: it keeps old farts and Mr Magoo wannabes out of Falcons.

I've had a fair few close shaves with Camrys lately. *shudder*

But that said, I depise MINIVANS. Traffic slow? Ten bucks says there's some clown in a piece of **** clapped out minivan bellowing blue smoke and choking anyone unfortunate enough to be caught behind.

Oh and don't you be thinkin of changin down a gear to a climb a hill - noooo noooo nooo NO. When you slip behind the wheel of a minivan, you need to climb hills in the highest gear you can find - remember climbing hills at any speed greater than 30 km/h is hazardous to your health and changing down a gear is bad for your precious minivan. Also, your driving instructor was wrong - 10-2 is not the way to hold the wheel. And don't lean back in your seat. You should lean forward, peer over the wheel and hold it 11-1 with your forearms resting on it.

I hate minivans.

Well I owned a camry at the same time as my ford. So that would make me a bad driver. So what happened when I sold the camry. Did my skills suddenly improve based on the conspiracy theoryt that all camry drivers are bad drivers? I think people just bag the car. It has nothing to do with the car. My camry was far more reliable than any of my Falcons. My E-Series would break down more times than I care to remember, while my ever reliable camry just kept on going.

And like some tool in his falcon has never done the same thing.

I find the biggest hazard on the road are 18 year old girls in hyundai's. The laws of the road obviously weren't written for them.....

This threads a good laugh but I think it's starting to turn out like the all Holden drivers are awful threads.

I had one (actually Holden Apollo as a hand me down till I blew the head gasket and transmission) and they do struggle in breaking compared to my XR, and are quite easy to break suspension components when pushed.

My favourite subject (not). This is a sensitive area that can be taken personally (see http://au.toyotaownersclub.com/forum...php/t3347.html). There is even a Camry enthusiasts club in America, not surprising as there are Prius enthusiasts there too.

The fact is the population falls into two groups. Those who like driving and appreciate a well-designed car, and those who just want a car to get from A to B. The A to Bs don't know anything about cars or driving. Someone told them Toyotas have good quality and that's enough for them. So there you have a Camry/Tarago/Prius/Kluger/Avalon etc driver - dozing along slowly in the RH lane.

What do you want to do? Not give them licences? Tell Ford to make our cars with mattresses strapped around them? (I've got some Camry white paint on my Territory's towball from an old man in a Camry who misjudged his turn in a carpark and destroyed his bumper bar on me. I wear it with pride.)

Lets face it, Toyota would go out of business without this section of the population.

So now you know why they use advertising with camels, and people jumping up and down like idiots, because that's the market they're aiming for. Just take pity and try and keep it to yourself!

I celebrate when I get behind a camry that is doing the speed limit. Around where I live/work we have alot of koreans and indians who love camrys. Get them in a 60kph zone and watch em do 30kph. Sucks to be behind them.

So Scary, ( This is a real deal story ), After writing the above ( all in fun ), the wife say's to me the car needs some fuel ( the camry ), she is cooking tea so i said no worries i will run down and fuel up for you.

Coming out from payng the bill and getting into the car, i noticed a guy sitting in the car across from me, but took no notice then after getting into the car and starting up, i notice him again out the corner of my eye, this time he was out of the car ( next to / across from the passenger side front door ), now guess what this tozzer was doing ?
..
..
..
..
..
He was giving me little ducky waves, smiling and blowin little kisses at me ( for real ), now short of taking up my old ways and getting out and smackin this guy i just told him to fly off, ( in different words ).

Drove home not believing this sheite, the camry is for sale as from now apparantly they are left handed as well, but guess what he was driving ? yep a Ford XF. so im selling the XR as well, and buying pushbikes from here on in.

******in camry drivers... i was following this person in one on sat morning. now some of us joke about how they sit well under the speed limit, she was sitting on 40 (yeah its only 10k under) but f n h! ive got s**t to do. i cant overtake cause theres traffic coming the other way so i sit behind this person for about 3-4 k's....

...with my horn blaring.

so shes stuck on 40, we aproach an intersection which is green but turns red as we almost reach it. nothing and i repeat nothing p***** me off more than this.

does she brake? nope. she sits on 40 through a red light. wtf? she must have sliped into a coma. volvo drivers look out, camry owners are taking over.

Get a hold of yourself DOC. You've got the advantage of Toyota quality and long term reliability over us Ford types. Just drive around flat out (as long as you don't go round a corner too fast or hit the brakes too late). Do your bit to destroy the myth!
