Default Vale

Well at 2.55pm today I lost my best friend of 12yrs, confidant, faithfully listener and giver of all things that are neded in a time of crisis.

This bloke has been with me through thick and thin, good and bad and everything in between. To know he wont be snuggling upto me on the end of my bed from now on is not a thought I want to entertain.

Yes today I lost my beloved Cooper, My Red cattle dog, daddy dawg, the lover of nibbling heals as he has been known in the forums.

A brown snake was the culprit and I defy anyone to give me the reasons why they are a protected species.......... The only blessing I have apart from the memories of my old boy is the fact he killed the snake just before it killed him ......

So vale my baby ..... You will be in our hearts forever, you will not be forgotten

I'm sorry to hear you lost your dog Lisa, I don't know why brown snakes or any Australian snake is protected, they don't seem to be in short supply. :(

Sorry but I don't know what else to say so instead these are for you.

Sorry to hear that. It's awful when you lose a pet. They aren't just animals, they really are members of the family.

Thats terrible Lisa.

The amount of good dogs that have gone to snakes is reason enough to have them all shot. Rest in the knowledge he did what he did to protect his family.

Emma's and my thoughts are with you.

Thanks for your wishes guys & gals. You are all correct in assuming he was a member of the family. I have had this bloke since before my youngest was born ........ to say that he was one of my kids is an understatement.

I woke up this morning waiting for him to try to open the door to get in ....... it didnt happen ..........Im not sure how long it will take but I know there must be a reason for it .........

Dave ... Just be careful if you do ....... the size of this snake was described to me as being able to drop a bullock ...... The old bloke droped in less than half an hour ........ Its just too scary to think if it had of got one of the kids ..........
