Hey guys,
One of my headlight bulbs have just blown in my XR8. What type do I need to replace them. I will change the pair at the same time. Are the blue/white light ones any good? Any comments welcome.

The low beams are H4's and the highs are H1's

I had a set of Phillips Blue Vision Plus in the AU, they were great.
I've now got a BF, and the H1 globes don't fit in the high beams, so they've been sitting in my shed for ages. If you'd like to buy them, let me know. Regardless, I would still recommend the Phillips Blue Vision Plus. They're very white, they are ADR approved for road use and they make a huge difference. Panda

I have a set of 130W H1's (no tint) and 90/120 H4's for the main beams. Needless to say, they can put up a fight even against the HID's
Oh, for the record, redo the ground lead in the headlight plug when going higher power. The headlights have individual + power for the 2 phases of the h4, but only one ground, so it can burn the wiring if you hold on your high beam :P |

It's a reasonably simple job (RH is harder due to the battery location) remove the rubber boot, un-plug the loom (for the H4, squeeze the sides of the plug hard to un-lock it) un-do the "spring clip" remove bulb, installation is a reversal of the removal procedure except for a few small things, make sure the bulb is fitted correctly as they only go in 1 way, H4 (high/low outer headlight) has a wide "prong" that points up, H1 (high beam inner) has a "cut-off" on the side that must coincide with the "cut-out" in the headlight. Hope this helps _2:

Hi
I have the NARVA Arctic globes on my Au 2 XR8. I changed the low and high beams and the parking globe. They are ADR approved and have a much better white light. Definitely worth the upgrade. They work great in the country when its dark! Cheers Engineer |
