hey boys and girls thought id let all you fordfans out there know about 3 hours ago i wrote my car off. MY eb s pack that ive had for near 2 years poured so much money into. If anyone hasnt seenmy car here she is before...

Will post picz of the wreck at the end of the week when i go to pull apart what i can salvage.
What happened i lost control at a roundabout obviouslly come out to fast kicked out left,right,left thinking i could catch it ending up doing 2 full 360s up a road divider across the grass and backed straight into a pole clean up the middle at about 40ks dunno exactlly.
Blew the backwind screen clean out the rear bar has come off and is now bent so far the ends meet, petrol tank is banged up,boot lid is now touching the backwindscreen. The car is a write off. Thankfully i walked away and no one was in or near the car which i can thank god for that. i can salvage the stereo and wheels off the car and make some money to go get another car but that obviouslly wont be a while. Ive been on my p's for 4 months and i didnt plan my car to depart like this. But i thought i should post this as just another reason why stupidity in cars on public roads is so far from cool, i could have been killed and have learnt my lesson completely i take 100% responsibility for my actions and just hope that this will maybe change even ones person view to prevent them from doing something dumb behind the wheel. And thank god for insurance cause its gunna cost a wholleeeee lot after destroying a councils street light...

my mate did the same kind of thing withhis vc commodore...
around a roundabuot, lost control and ended up with his driver side door in a lgight pole... the metal ones... pushed the door all the way over to the clutch pedal... dont know how he got out with only a sore knee... and back...
and ow does it et less grip in the rear when he fits a set of 17s intead of the stock 14s...

I also had an accident a few weeks ago man, i've had my P's for about 6 months so I feel your pain! Lucky you had insurance, I was so happy I had insurance after I had my accident. In a few weeks you'll just be happy that your ok and that things didn't turn out worse.........but you'll still miss your car I can promise you that.

You'll be right, try not to worry about it too much!

Silly Silly Boy. Atleast you are ok and no one was around to get hurt.

Im not sympathetic to you, you got what you deserved, but atleast you know what your limit is and you (hopefully) wont go to it again.

Good luck, hope the police are gentle with you if you are dealing with them.

Sadly it's an easy mistake to make. My friend wrote off his R33 Skyline in a very similar fashion. Only his was the front end that hit the pole. At least you owned up to your mistake. My friend made the excuse that he accidentally hit the accelerator instead of the brake. We all knew he was pushing too hard and lost control. Pity about the car. That was a nice looking EB

i was always a stupid P plater but i have been driving since i was 9. Grew up on a farm with gravel everywere.

Crashing cares is an expensive lesson.....but usually is one which changes driving attitudes.

Did it have the steel rims n tyres on the back of it when you smashed it?

It could be urban myth but if you had taken out one of the little telstra poles you your insurance company would be up for $18-20000 to replace and re-wire it.

It was rather greasy on the roads last night, just shows how careful you have to be.

Dont stress yourself too much... you should be able to salvage a fair bit from it, and bounce back.
When i lost my Fairlane to an engine fire, i thought I'd be off the road for ages, but with some help from the bank, im back on the road and all is good.

Its a gut wrenching feeling, but it'll pass and hopefully you'll come away from the experiance a little wiser.

I did the same sort of thing 25 years ago when I was young and dumb!!

Just learn from this and don't do it again. It took me 3 prangs to learn a bit of road sense, I hope you learn quicker than I did!!!

There's a local roundabout that I used to enjoy driving enthusiastically around and then one day for no reason that I can see, I lost control and understeered out. I luckily ran into an opening and regained control but it gave me a bit of a wake up call. I now respect that roundabout a lot more as you never know what has changed that you can't see.

You even went so far as to post a pic of your car in its "glory" days with burnout tyres. Just goes to show your attitude on the road mate, How bout some respectable pics of it without them? Your aftermarket rims look nice.

Having said that, good on you for assuming your own responsibility. Thats the hardest part. Good luck to getting it all back on track.

hey mate as long as ur alright u will learn from this silly mistake i learnt last year when i had my first car an alfa romeo and i went into another car silly mistake but it happens to the best of us and mine was about 3 months after i got my p's u will learn from it which is the best thing good luck with ur next car cheers

I think you will find that those pics were actually taken before he went out to the drag strip, or something like that. I can remember him explaining it in another thread the reason for the tires...

Then again i may be wrong...

first off thanks for the support guys LoL as said by mygt i was planning on hitting the strip that night reason why the tyres were on it and the only good shots i have of the car. and as for my next car im thinkin an el fairmont or something like that move up to somethin with all the electrics,trip computer etc. and if anyones interested in my old stereo its up for sale in the sales part.
It all works 100% fine (go figure) and i will be posting up the rims for sale when i get em off the car. Cheers guys.

Probably because they dont learn.

I have a mate who drives a VL and he's had 3 accidents and still drives like a tool.

mate (much older round the 40 mark) seriously injured his VY Clubby R8 which insurance fought and won that the accident was caused due to complete stupidity..

Silly move mate, but I'm sure most of us have lost control of a vehicle at some stage by pushing the limits. Hopefully this teaches yourself a big lesson and others too.

I'm assuming you had a single-spinner diff?
