I was driving around today and spotted a red ss parked at the road and decided to go back for a closer look. It stood out alot compared to other cars parked around it, was the first time i've seen it in the flesh
I got out and started to feel a little funny as I reached into my pocket for my phone. As I snapped it I looked around nerviously, looking like I was going to steal it more than snap photos of it. When I got back in my car I looked again at the houses to make sure no-one was watching and felt relived as I drove away. Anyway my question is what do you do if you see a new car do you just snap away without a care in the world or do you feel a little guilty and sneaky? |

Snap away. No law to stop you.
If it really bothers you ask some of the guys in the AFF Photography Club what they think.

Public Road = Fair Game, I took the first released pictures of the VZ back when it was released and had a few of the engineers asking me not to take them, as I pointed out to them, its a public road and if you didnt want photos being taken of them, you wouldnt park it out on the street out the front of the pub... I ended up making a thousand bucks and a nice bottle of bourbon for it.

Yeah go ahead, when i am down in gaydon working, i often go to the Aston Martin factory or just have a little look now and again and there are new landies, jags and astons driving around all the time. They go along the public roads so why cant i takes some snaps altho be warned they do have body guards for new cars somtimes, and Fords PAG in gaydon for landy aston and jag have a little police group that go to disrupt you taking photos, but dont be phased and snap away

I got a few pics of a masked up VE a couple of month ago near my old house. I just pulled alongside him and started snapping away with my phone camera. The driver just waved and laughed.

Saw an episode of fifth gear (like top gear but on british tv channel 5) where they followed a spy photographer for a day. He got 'caught' by the security of aston martin waiting, parked on the side of a public road, outside their factory and all they could do was say "we don't want you taking photos of our cars as some of them are top secret prototypes." The photographer basically said '**** off, if your stupid enough to send out top secret prototypes then you can suck it.' The guy was back photographing the next day, not that they saw him, not that it would've mattered. :thebirds: BTW, if you get a shot of a nice prototype some mags will pay money for them.

What is fair game ?. Do we snap pictures of girls because there on public roads ?
I think there needs to be a limit I'm all for new models when in testing but private cars should be left alone as if i seen someone at my car i would feel the need to defend my property.

Fair game - go for it, if you have any doubts just make sure you remove the number plates from any pics in case they are a private vehicle, but otherwise public place snap away.
