Finally got my CAI installed a couple of days ago. Nothing special - I just re-positioned the stock intake pipe and bolted a cheap TFI Racing pod filter onto the end. The valve cover vent tube is still hooked up to the stock airbox.
But even with this unspectacular setup, I've noticed an improvement in throttle response and a slight increase in power even at relatively low revs, and I've experienced no adverse effects. Driving the Fez has become more enjoyable now, especially with the mean growl issuing from beneath the bonnet. It gets the blood going a bit more. I can hardly wait for the cruise day now.

good on you fled.... the fez is a very driver pleaser car, .......just be carefull cause i think MISTA FIESTA had done the same thing, just using the stock piping from the intake and connecting to a pod filter..... apparently after a while the piping lost integrity and nearly melted from the constant heat....

Still would be an idea to shield the hot parts, better safe than sorry.

If you use the stock intake pipe they can begin to sag. It also a avoids running over any heat generating parts.
