Default low flying evo

coming home from work yesterday about 1am on the monash freeway, i had my cruise set on about 105 an evo5 passed me like i was standing still. this thing had to be doing 150 or more the way it passed me and dissapeared. it's idiots like this that kill innocent people! i've been known to speed myself at times but not at speeds like that on a major metropolitan road. (i drove tow trucks for about 10 years, that slows you down a bit.) and as i was in the ba you would think coming up behind an xr8 with new rego plates and tint they would slow down and look at whether its an unmarked chaser. this was on the monash freeway near stud road. :

Sad thing is that there is only one way that people like that will learn, but then it will be too late. Fancy flogging it past a new XR though, licence won't last long hopefully.

its statements like this that make my bloody boil!

Fair enough it is an idiotic thing to do on a public hwy, but that doesnt automatically make the driver a P plater.

years ago i was driving on the freeway, near the jacksons Rd exit heading inbound on the monash, when an AU Forte past us in the emergeny lane doing at least 170, swerving in and out of traffic, out of control on a few lane changes... turned out, this guy got fired from Ansett Airlines that night.
He drove to Tullamarine and rammed into a plane.. dont ask me how he got into the holding yard or what ever they call it.. you need security clearnence etc to get past the security gate.

Yeh good one mate its people like you that make p platers not want to display their plates. I see just as many bad drivers on full licenses who probably got their drivers license 30+years ago by paying off the instructor and would seriously struggle to pass their p's these days you see one or two p platers driving like an idiot and suddenly all of them are like that. And im sure you have never done excessive speeds either aey.

It is true that "P" platers are better and fresher at passing the driving test. But it will take you 30 years to catch to the "old" guys that paid off the driving tester, in actual experience.

Think about it.

Actually years on the road don't mean anything, kilometers racked up do.

Depends. Highway kilometres mean nothing compared to say driving in a heavily congested situation.

The 30km I travel on Springvale Rd everyday would have to be pretty decent experience. Multiple intersections, intersections with railway lines and multiple padestrian crossings, Freeway on and off ramps, God only knows how many Speed Limit changes, and some are variable. The add in the Traffic, which is all kinds.

did'nt see p plates ( did'nt really have time to look) there was normal traffic for that time of morning, few other cars and a couple of trucks around. we had just come out of road works i had pressed resume on cruise and got back to speed so i'd hate to know what he was doing through there.

Damn that is just plain stupid driving. Especially with trucks around, it would be so hard for a truck to judge a speeding car.

This is exactly the reason that they need to set up some type of drag strip out on the south-eastern side of Melbourne. There is no where out my way for young hoons to test the limits of their vehicle. I know that I did a few silly things when i was a young buck, but it is people like that who give everyone else a bad name.

Good for you mate. I can understand why people buy cars like ours and your GT (AUII TE50 here) but its people like you that give people with nice/modded cars a bad name only a matter of time before you and other people like you get caught. Im not saying im the most law abiding person but i dont speed around like that did it once got caught never again. I dont know how old you are but when young people speed around and crash or get caught only makes insurance premiums higher for us young guys with nice/modded cars. Before you have a go at me for complaining about high premiums and i should have a datto, i paid the premium i dont care i have a nice car im proud of out:

Sometimes its better to keep your mouth shut and let people think your a tool, rather than open it and remove all doubt :Reverend:
Seriously Shane, if you or someone you care about got wiped out by an idiot like this I bet youd be the first one to scream the house down and demand immediate removal of private parts with blunt razor blade. :

It's one thing to do it on a freeway like the western or hume but he's talking about the Monash and doing it there is just plain ******* stupid.

So your saying 'almost' at the expense of your own life you couldnt have bought another one into the world that im sure has bought you plenty of joy. I know what young people are like i lost my license lucky i wasnt killed but i dont do anything stupid etc never do burnouts nor speed (well to that extent) mayb 120 on highway (not sayin thats legal). Im no angel trust me but if you do have a habit of breaking the law id say its best not to post on here because u will get flamed and you dont know 'who' might be reading/watching. Oh and gregxr8 this isnt directed at you because you were merely stating about someone elses stupidity

my drama is you young whipper snappers like yourself have no respect i would have to agree you must be a huge tool to do those speeds on any road i can say i have never gone over 62 in a 60 zone
the majority of people who jump on here wont admit that they have ever gone over the speed limit :eclipsee_ i think i broke the speed limit typing this... : in my day cars didnt go fast enough to break the speed limit cut the crap

It'd be a pretty well off P plater to have and evo. I can see why people think it was someone young though....older people don't tend to hoon around as much, I think mainly coz young hoons either write themselves off or have a close one and scare themselves straight (that's what I did)
