What a weekend...
It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. I had a great day at the track, completing somewhere around 50-70 laps with the car reasonably in tack. There are some front discs and pads that will need replacing, a gearbox leak and a oil catch can to be made, but other than that all is great. All my issues (not personal ones) surrounded the hire trailer that I used to take the car up to Winton. Firstly about 15 mins down the road we realised it had a puncture so we swapped it over for the spare. We then had to do some on the run carpentry to rebalance the sh***y trailer. Then on the way home another tyre (retread) decided to go bang... luckily we were only 5 mins down the road from Bonnie Doon where a garage was still open and had a tyre fitting machine. In the end after a few hours we got back to Wally's and 1600GT's factory at 8.30 or 9pm all tired and could nothing but smile about the "adventure" of the weekend. Big thanks to Wally and 1600GT who were continually assisting with the dodgy trailer all weekend. The track was the best day I have had driving and was well worth the other dramas that happened on the weekend. I will also thank Dad and my brother for their help as well. GRNKPR, keep living our dreams... please!

I tell you, they need to stick to 6cyl mate. All the 8's were dropping like flies ing_sm
It went well. there were some small issues but not too bad, it did break a header pipe I think.

firstly, I know lucky Phil personally, and yes.....
he is VERY lucky!! Phoon... so how's the serenity in Bonnie Doon these days mate?? :nutsycuck the old banger went well. i had a drive or 2, and we solved a few little issues the car had in the process, so now it feels alot better on the track. was overheating a bit, due to the radiator only being a little 6 cylinder job (as we worked out when we had a good look at it in the pits...), so a BIG one is going in this week. and it actually just blew an exhaust manifold gasket, so i'll replace both to be safe. it just needs the normal brake pad and the like maintanence, but other than that, all is looking good for the 6 hour. ROLL ON PHILLIP ISLAND!! |

Good to see GRNKPR is maintaining his "status" _2: Thanks to you guys and the "wal family" for the hospitality over the weekend.... Hey 'phoon and 1600GT - we have to enlist "paul" the sharpest-not-so-sharpest tool in the shed for our strategic planning....... he was a surpise!!!!!

"All the 8's were dropping like flies" :
I beg your pardon, Mr 'phoon, but I recall at least one "little" Windsor that not only managed to get to Winton under its own power without incident, but also managed to get through the entire day and get home without any leaks, breaks or blowouts! : |
