I have a friend with a 1 year old Fiesta, and they asked me if they could replace their space saver spare tyre with a tyre and alloy wheel exactly the same as is fitted to the car, or wouldn't a full-size tyre fit?
I wouldn't have a clue, so I thought I'd ask other owners who might know. Thanks in advance.

Very good question, I want to know too. (can't be bothered taking off one of my wheels and try and see if it fits in the boot)

Full size-spare doesn't fit. They sit too high

You just need to remove that foam space filler that normally sits above the space saver to make it level with the bottom of the boot.

Ahh, ok, thanks for the quick response, so they're stuck with the space saver spare?

not that it really matters.......the spare is only to get you out of trouble when you get a flat....
honestly... i havent had a flat tyre in about 3 years......even then i knew that it had a bolt in it |

I've got one of my original 15's in the back, it fits fine (still a space saver after the 17's though)

I put in the stock 15 inch rims and they don't fit. Sit too high in mine

Well... if they dont know.. and it seems we have mixed answers here. Why dont they just put the full size one in the spare tyre spot and see if it fits. Shouldnt take more than 30 minutes to find out.
