As it says, the boys from Orange County Chopper will be at the Custom Picnic on the Saturday of the cup weekend the 4th and 5th of November. I know most on here will know who they are. They will also be at Peter Stevens melbourne on the Friday. Bj

They never claimed to be the best builders and they definately aren't. But they don't build bad bikes. Prozac make awesome bikes. But the way the OCC boys are getting cut down like tall poppies here you'd think they were Aussies! Paul Senior is no tall poppy. I don't think he's ever worn a shirt with sleeves to any function ever. And when they moved to larger premises he took out the old office with his Ford Explorer and promptly wrecked the car. When they go to bike shows they rarely take 1st prize and always heap praise on the other bikes if deserved.
The attention they recieve may be disproportionate to the standard of their bikes but I think thats because the buyers want to buy a bit of Paul Snr. Paul Jnr has some nice ideas but it irks me when he calls himself a fabricator. Sure he builds some great cycles but "fabricator" sounds like some mickey mouse qualification. I'd just say I was a bike builder. If I was Paul Snr I'd probably do nothing different. |
