worn or broken pressure plate fingers, worn or broken throw out bearing and/or shift fork possibly? have you been doing anything lately that you haven't normally done, ie riding the clutch, dumping it at high revs, or did it just happen with normal driving?

possibly, it depends if it was an actual component failure or just normal wear and tear on the car, things like that don't just 'happen' tho, not saying you did anything to cause it, but theres not much else that should cause vibration in the clutch pedal...does it happen whether in gear or out of gear, and does it change with car speed or engine speed?

in neutral it's there but only just.
The faster the engine speed (in gear) the faster the vibration. 130k still origional clutch... i had a sprocket (bearing?) replaced while ago. It happened down shifting from second 3rd to 2nd going down a hill at 40kph. |

so regardless of what gear it's in, i mean is it worse in some than others or the same in all? also did it make any niose before the vibration started, or it just started?

no noises that i noticed.
Reguardless of gear as the engine speed increases the vibration gets faster. Still shifts fine, still the same effort to change gears. |

I'd tell you to take it to the shop and get it looked at. I've never heard of the clutch pedal vibrating. It's some thing you dont want to wait around on finding information out, could cause an accident if it is seriouse

worn pressure plate fingers....apparently it happens with EVERY manual AU falcon between the 120,000km and 150,000km mark. No dramas apparently....will be adjusted at my next service (few weeks time).
call me a skeptic....but these are the guys who serviced my automatic transmission. So we will see. ORB. |

no problem, it's good to know it wasn't a serious problem, on the contrary, it's probably not only a common problem in au falcons, i'd imagine anything with a clutch would have this happen at some stage in its life, i hope it doesn't cost too much to get fixed

i see the missus has been on my computor ,7 posts up i'l get on to her.mate when our first clutch went it didnt vibrate it just lost its bite and was slipping real bad,i thought it was just a flogged out plate .after they pulled it appart they noticed the clutch plate was fine and the pressure plate fingers were bent.they couldn't explain why but it hasn't since.
not to worry you mate but my latest prob with the clutch is that the cable is binding and getting stuck and not allowing the clutch to engage straight away after releasing the pedal.its jaming where the cable comes through the fire wall .i recently fitted a new cable and give it a squirt with silicone spray so far so good maybe its just a one off. |
