over the past week or so I have spent a few days on a big red truck up the blue mountains and as usual the media and everyone else is doing the usual, thanken us (it is appreciated) but what everyone seems to be forgetting are the people that are working around the clock making sure we get fed and watered. these people work tirelessly to ensure we are all well fed and want for very little, they come from all agency’s so far I’ve been fed by the salvo's and the lions. So if you are involved in one of these agency’s consider yourself patted on the back by The Yeti with out you lot we'd would have ground to a halt long before now

Nice sentiments Yetti. Dont hear much at all about support provided to fireys, although media usually comments on counselling services which are provided following tragedies.
Would be great to see more light shone on silent heroes in all walks of life.

Yeah thanks to all the support guys!
We had a major fire come close to town and the telstra tower on the mountain, which overlooks the town. Oh and came within meters of our Caltex fuel depot on the edge of town, 1 block from me, very strange. Did the NSW fire service ask you to come up to help or did you volunteer?
