Most tool places will have these and I dont include super cheap as a place to buy tools. Head for trade tools in the Valley.

Now the question... Why are you re-stamping a vin number?

It might be cheaper to ask someone in a workshop to stamp it for you (thats if you can drive it there) The other option is a Dremel tool with a small bur and engrave the number.

Qld Transport @ Zillmere have a set and if you ask them nicely they will lend them to you, provided the car is in the inspection lane..

A locksmith I knew a while ago had a set for punching keys. Try them too.

Cheers

A friend of mine is going through the same problem. trying to find the punchs to stamp his VIN number back on. The number was removed during restoration due to excess rust. RTA inspected it and said it was ok to remove the old number and stamp the new number.

Its illegal to do this yourself, you have to take the car to the road authorities and they'll issue you with new numbers and stamp it for you..
