Default New requirements for drivers under 26 years

: :

http://www.vicroads.vic.gov.au/Home/...r+26+years.htm

Quote:
From 1 January 2007, all drivers under the age of 26 are required to carry their drivers licence with them when driving or penalties will apply. These changes are part of the first stage of Victoria’s new Graduated Licensing System to help improve the safety of young drivers. Further changes will be implemented over the next 2 years.
Don't you already get fined for not having your license on you? Can't picture how it'll make you a safer driver just having your license on you~ I guess in 4 years time, this new 'rule' won't apply to me eh :P?

I've looked on arrivealive and can't find any more new regulations... any got a link for me?

I know in SA its my unerstanding you must carry your drivers licence on you. But it would be several years ago that a driver on there full licence had 24 hours to produce it from memory.

I cant see how that makes it safer for younger drivers.

Age discrimination as far as I'm concerned, and I'm not in the affected age group.

what they are really trying to say is:
you have to have your license on you so when we pull your mangled corpse from your twisted hoon car, we know who you are.

No 'cause chances are the authorities will already know who he is, plus they'll have his fingerprints on record, if he's not a charry corpse

The restriction will prevent probationary drivers from driving vehicles with:

Nar just means you have to buy every rip off part from the dealer. Cause everything else, pretty much increases hp. :

Could possibly save me from having to take a trip to the cop shop to produce it.

Give them my number, they call it in, and hopefully that's the end of it.

Lol at least you could get a free dyno run . Ask for a printout for "documentation" and post it up here.

The printout will probably cost you $$$'s and you'll probably have to send a cheque away and then they'll send it to you 8 weeks later.

bit like the free roadworthy checks we get now? but id still prefer to pay the $60 as opposed to the $500 for the nice yellow sticker

I was always under the assumption you needed to carry your licence with you and it was illegal if you didn't?? Guess I've been cautious all these years for nothing!
