This question is not easy to answer, tyre rubber compound, driving style, weight of the vehicle and the type of roads as well as how true the wheel / steering and suspension geometry is would all create different results.

15,000 km seems very low, I thought 40,000-60,000 km would be the average life of a regular tyre.

Just put a new set of rubber on my 18's after 26K. The front tyres were absolutely stuffed.

I don't think I ever made it to 10,000km on 16"s. Spent about as much as I paid for the car in tyres. 15 tyres not including the ones I got with it. You did well!

lol tyre shops love me...... as long as its <$500, and lasts less than a year or 20,000km i couldnt care less, just as long as its a ******* sticky tyre!

that said, i'm talking <$500 for a 225/50R16......

the joke? i'm paying roughly $138 for $213 toyo proxes T1-R's (dont ask how i get them so damned cheap, but at that price, 5,000km is fine by me! lol

I do a lot of stop/start city driving .... with heavy load as well ... I don't take corners gently.

Although I don't do burnouts ... I do keep my alignment in good nick ... and tyre wear is even (as I get the tyres rotated).

My last set of 235/45R17s lasted me 70,000km ... all tyres had the same amount of tread left ... I still could have kept them on and used them for longer ... but I wanted a new set of tyres ... I still sold them to someone IN NEED of rubber ... as they had about 1-2mm above the wear indicator.

The main things are tyre pressure ... alignment ... driving style. Softer compound will wear longer which is fair enough ... but you can get the soft compound tyres to last a fair while .... but you have to look after your tyres to do so.

My back tyres are fairly worn but the front tyres had about 90% tread and had done 22,000km but were goin to blow any day because they were down to the canvas on the inside edge about 20mm in. Said that it could have been caused from when i got it lowered and the springs settled over time or because i didn't have enough tyre pressure. Was running 36 pound and have recommended 42 with 40 as a min. for my new tyres.
