I have got problems with my cruise i have replaced the brake light globes and put a new brake switch on the pedal but still does not work. The buttons on the wheel work when you go to set the cruise with the button on the dash it jumps to set and then will go back to the on sign. Does any body know to fix this please.
thanks : : |

Led's Sometimes cause the Cruise Control not to work as they always have a current running through them , so the ECU thinks the Brakes are on Permanantly , Brakes = No Cruise Control ,
Its Gotta be either the 15A Fuse or the Globe is Faulty ,

hmmmm, funny you should mention this, ive recently fitted LED parker/brake light and have since noticed my cruise control doesnt work when i have my head lights on...works fine with the headlights off!! i was thinking it had something to do with it, kindy thinking along the lines of when you use LED's on your blinkers, it makes them flash faster! with the blinkers im told you need to fit an in line resister(i think)to trick the system for it to operate normaly, is this what i need to do to the brake lights?? Gonz.

Is the car manual or auto?
If manual check the clutch pedal height. |

Have a look at the pressure switch on the brake master cyl for leaking fluid, disconnect the switch and inspect it, the fluid shorts the switch which stops the cruise from setting.

I've actually never tested one, but I've replaced plenty due to leakage of fluid into the connetor.

When you take the plug off the switch there is no fluid in the plug.
