Hi folks. Just wondering if there is any ford part to adjust the camber on the IRS models. At the moment my car has got a bolt with a large washer that locates it in the centre of the long hole in the upper arm. I went to spare parts and the guy said he couldn't say, when i asked if it was that he couldn't or wouldnt say he told me that it was he wouldnt say because they would want me to bring the car in to have them do the work so it leads me to belive that there is some part avalable to adjust the camber. The IRS was from a Fairmont ghia and i have ultra low spings so there is a lot of negative camber. I want to straighten it up to get rid of the ommodore look. cheers

The Fairmont Ghia IRS had very limited camber adjustment (I believe the bolt you are looking at is it adjuster) however the XR6 VCT and XR8 IRS, while exactly the same, had a longer bolt and more adjustment available. May be something to replace so you can adjust more.

Bolt and washer look similar to this:- Oddly enough, even though I fitted the eccentric adjusters, they seem to be in the "neutral" position after the wheel alignment. Tyre wear is even so maybe the adjustment (on mine) is minimal. |
