While visiting the Imperial palace car museum in Las Vegas early this month they had a mock up GT XB Coupe for sale at $29,500US the car looked in average condition for that price.
On another note a Pontiac dealer still had a GTO demo for sale that had under 1,000 miles on it also are Pontiac copying the Lotus shape with some type of sports car. |

The car had a few waves in the left rear quarter so I would gather there would be a bit of filler & as the Americans call them recreations not genuine GT.

The pontiac gto is a holden monaro. You must be drunk if you have never noticed that.

Last March (2006) they were trying to sell this for 5 grand more..... this one certainly wasn't a great example.... you could see the rust from standing behind the rope if you had a good look....

Thats the same car. It had waves on the left 1/4. But it looks better in the pic with lights & detail from professional detailers than in real life. The asking price would be OK if the car was more genuine for all we know it could have been a 6cyl one full of rust. My pick of the cars for sale in the casino display was a 69 Boss 429 Mustang it looked great. I have a pic of the car somewhere in the camera |

I think that he’s referring to the Solstice (bottom pic) which is Pontiac’s Miata/MX5 competitor. The turbo version should be out soon and for the truly insane some aftermarket tuners have replace the 4 banger with an LS V8.
Saturn has a sister car to the Solstice which is called the Sky. That to me looks very Lotus inspired – and similar in looks to the mid-engined Opel Speedster (which was based on an Elise) There are meant to be club sport (club sprint?) models of the Solstice coming out and the show cars also had a coupe version that was pretty yummy.

The windscreen on the Solstice looks very similar to the Opel Speedster and Lotuses.

Forget those GROTESQUE modern day Yankee pieces of junk, that XB is sweet. What makes it a GT replica? I certainly doesn't have the stickers, just one nice coupe.

Looks like a Caddy CTS to me. Someone was testing a LHD version in Melbourne before the VZ Commodore came out.
It is meant to represent Caddy’s “Science and Technology” theme but the proportions (long vertical straight sections around the headlights) looked strange to me, as if it was being scanned and the scanner jammed when it happened. I’m sure that someone like Simon Cox could improve it if given a free hand. It certainly passes the 100m test in traffic. Sometimes the domestic US styling seems weird to me, I never liked the old “formal” rooflines (like a square Volvo 760) either.

From a guy who exports coupe to the USA "Some of them get upset when they get the car over there and its not absolutely 100% fully reconditioned and doesnt drive like a brand new car"...well for the price some of them pay do you blame them?
He had a filthy rotten rusty XB GT replica coupe come through that I warned him about, worst rust I had see in any car. He kept saying its not that bad he's seen worse. Now that car is a poster car on his homepage. |
