Hey guys, i looking at lowering my AU, cause with the stock forte suspension it looks like and urban 4x4 (ok, exaggerated but thats what it feels like) but are unsure as to how low i want to go, so i thought i'd post up a poll here and let you guys decied for me lol. A few things though,
1- Dont want to have to replace the shockies if it can be avoided 2- The car is going to have a brumby front bar on the front, and be upgraded to BA rims when the cash allows. Link to bigger pic Also, if any of you kind, talented folk could photoshop what it'll look like at the lowered level that would be great. Thanks in advance guys/gals Aye You

I have SL's. I sit 102 mm off the ground at the rear flange of my cat. Ive only scraped once when I was being careless, although my mudflaps (86mm off the ground) scrape al the time. I wouldnt waht to go any lower, and I would change the shocks if money would allow, or just run the original ones and kill them while you save up for new ones.

I have super lows with a short travel shock and I dont scrub, I dont scrap anywhere if im careful,, only thing to ever hit the ground was my tip when I reversed out of the driveway a bit too quick.
Now SSL's or Ultra lows are very uncomfortable when driving, my mate had ultra lows in his EB and he had to cut his bump stops as it was riding on them. Plus he got defected many times and bend a tail shaft as well. I suggest SL's, a good quality shock absorber (i use KYB) and a camber castor kit for the front. If you dont like the height, send the springs back to the manufacture and get them reset. Cheers

Ok well heres the difference. This is just a guess on the ride high plus im sort of using my cars height from something to go of.
With my car the rear is lower than the front so ive done the same here, but only slightly. SL's SSL's Hope you like, Ill put some BA rims on for you tomorrow. BA XR6 ones? Cheers

I'm having lovells superlows and koni reds installed tomorrow. I have heard that although it is hardly noticable lovells sit slightly lower than their king sping equivalents so I will get some pics up when its all done.

King SSL make the car look nice and handle good around corners and all but the ride is a bit stiff and harsh. If I was to lower my car again I would go King SL or pedders as they make a softer spring compared to King.
Also if you go SSL your rear shocks will stuff up pretty quick, as the biggest drop in height is the back. Front should be fine mine have been for the past 50,000km, they are a bit stuffed now but after 160000 they lasted a while. |

I wouldn't go any lower than SL. I've got Herrod SL in mine and it is plenty low enough, check the link below for pics.
