They'll get you if your not on the ball, and add to your final cost fuel and you most probably could of got one locally.

Yeah, they can be real dogs there... which pick-a-part was this?
The one in Campbellfeild isn't too bad... there is just the one lady there who will charge you for each item individually, instead of the sub-assemblies that are on their price boards... She is a real nasty one too, many times ive just dumped a pile of parts on the ground and left because of it. Most of the other guys there are too clueless to know what they are selling... I got a whole heap of throttlebodies, as the guy priced them as single barrel carbs :P

I've been to the one in Kilsyth quite a few times. Loads of crap cars with crap parts. I've never had an issue with the employees or prices, in fact they're one of the friendlier wreckers I've been to.

I've never had much faith in these pick a part type arrangments except for do dads and bits that normaly go in the bin at other wreakers, other than that if you work out the time taken buy you to remove somthing like an engine or transmission and even charge your own time out at say $10 per hour its cheaper to ring an regular wreaker and get one off the shelf

Only two places that i deal with here in Melbourne.
Just Falcons in Kilsyth Pick pay and go in Ringwood. Both places have great staff and I think the best prices in town. |

So did you buy the motor or not, I missed that bit.
If you didn't I hope you charged them labour for pulling it out. car wreckers are slicker than a bucket of slime, they know the value of parts.

For price they are both tops in my book. As for pick a part i wouldn't go near them if they where the last place on earth.

I usually go to just falcon too (though the name's kinda deceiving, lol).
Pick a parts only good if you're nicking something worth more than a dollar (costs to get in). |
