Morning all
Just thought i'd write about my clutch pedal, last week it decided to bend into some god-awful shape, where it bent was the pin that the pedal pivots on. so i was able to get the ute home safely. Lucky my old man taught me how to change gears without a clutch! (not really reccomended for anything smaller than a road-ranger) :togo: So i've parked it up and until last night its been sitting there due to my lack of mechanical knowledge and motivation. I didnt want to start pulling stuff out for fear of it not going back in. I finally managed to convince a mechanic mate of mine to fix it for me and in the space of two and a half hours he had it out, realised this isnt the first time its been bent and discovered how dodgy the fix up job was, cleaned it up and welded it properly and back in the ute! All for the price of a bottle of Jack Daniels! :baby bott after all that i'm suprised at how flimsy the set up is on such a critical area. you'd think it'd be well reinforced. anyway.. have a great day guys! |

yep cars designed for majority autos suffer with weak firewalls..... you find you may need a pedal box, and have to weld the firewall too. |
