Ok i know what to do and everything but how much oil does the au 6 actually take. its a standard 6

It depends upon which series you have. 5 litres (AU1) or 5.5 litres (AU2-3) of the oil of your choice.

I'd stick in 4litres (AU1) 4.5 litres (AU2-3), run it for 1 minute, turn it off, wait another few minutes and then check the dipstick, adding as needed.
More time consuming, but at least this way your steed never gets overfilled. All the best with it. GK

Use 5 litres of 10w 30 oil with a new filter

just keep pouring in the oil until that little metal thing that u measure the oil says full, this is the most accourate and simple way

Its just that much longer your engine is potentially without oil pressure (depending on design of engine)

honestly, all i do is fill to just over the full line on the dip stick, start and run the car in idle until the oil pressure light goes out plus 10 seconds, then switch it off, check the level again and top up un till full level is reached and all is good then. most acurate way of doing it. a 5.5L bottle of 10w30 should be more then enough to cover this. dont forget when doing your oil change, check ALL fluids at the same time, this includes power steer fluid, brake fluid, coolant, washer bottle, transmission oil, and diff oil. these are also important to prolonging the life of your car and avoids costly replacements.
