I'm having fun sitting at the top of that leaderboard!
I was on track for 8 tips this week, except for the fact that I had a brain meltdown and tipped Collingwood. Grrr.

and I loved how a reporter said "mark johnson knocked out collingwoods best player" just because he had 21 touches....considering he got about 6 of them in 30 seconds with their little hand pass to hand pass on the spot ;) its not how many times you've touched it...its what you do with it ;) |

It is pretty sad when Rhyce Shaw is labelled the best player in your team!
Only joking, he is actually proving to be a little bit better than last year...although he still cannot hit a target.

According to the letter of the law, it was actually a correct decision.
However, the law was written quite a long time ago, and is hardly relevant in today's footy. A lot of people I know are Collingwood supporters j0nni....so I take great pleasure in reminding them where they are on the ladder (even if we - Hawthorn - are only one spot above them)

Wasn't it that Johnson used the C@#T word and the ump didn't want to repeat it to him as he's wired up for sound so he said weak dog instead.
Dunno how ya come up with weak dog as a replacment for C@#T though! |

You are correct flavze.
The whole incident has sparked controversy amongst the umpires about being wired...seems they actually want to repeat the swear words back to the players (for a purpose though, and without being heard over the TV)

If Hawthorn can keep their playing group together they will be a flag contender in around 2 years. Seem to be a very exciting team. Quite good to watch. Glad West Coast beat them last week. Williams is a damn fine kick at goal.

I'm certainly not glad West Coast beat us last week!
We are an exciting team this year, which I am very pleased about. We still don't have the skill level to consistently knock off teams...but hopefully that will come. Mark Williams actually had an off game yesterday....8 goals 5 behinds. Too many missed shots, 2 of them hit the post and another shot (left foot snap) was an absolute sitter. Should have had 11...but will definately take 8! Still leading the goal kicking, and would have increased his margin quite considerably.

Being a WCE fan i had to be glad they came away from Tassie with a win.
I like how keen some fo the Hawks players are, i just dont like that skinny red head one, he seems way out of his league.

Yep Williams is still young, not sold on Harry Miller yet though...is still yet to show enough so far for me (this year and last year in the VFL)...but he will hopefully develop.
Add to that list of young guys Chance Bateman, Campbell Brown, Michael Osborne, Jordan Lewis, Tim Boyle (will debut this year and is an extremely exciting prospect)...plus of course our future captain Luke Hodge....and we are starting to build a strong-ish team. We also have James Hird's cousin on our list (doing well in the VFL) plus another couple of tall players. So hopefully they can come good. West Coast though have a very, very strong list...and again have some really good youngsters too.
