Ef and Au Crank and Cam Senser

The Part numbers for AU and EF Falcons are the same what is the difference if any can an Au Motor run with an EF ECU.Both have cam and crank sensers and coil packs.

I Think it would run but consider the differences between motors Au motor has higher Compression, Different Cam, Different Knock Sensor, Sequential Injection, Maybee all OK But Its anyones Guess. I Believe the Ecu in The AU Uses the Knock sensor More for Fine Tuning When crusing/Economy Wheras The EF Ecu Is More of A Failsafe for crap Fuel, Having driven sombody elses ef on a hot day and noticed it pinging under medium throttle i was suprised the computer allowed that much detonation to occur.

Thanks Barossa Red Au your reply has a lot of weight based on this I made further seachers.The only thing would be is it a different Knock Senser of or has there been further information programed into the Ecu I think the Ecu is different in the Au? any more infomation from anyone would be greatly appreciated.

The Ecu Between Ef - Au Is Certainly Different Fuel and Ignition Mapping Ect, Im Not even sure whether wiring config is the same of whether you find out when the smoke leaks out of the box (bloody hard stuff to put back in by the way) ive heard of a Guy who put a AU s2 motor in an EF but have no idea what was done otherwise.
