EB XR6 on par with GT and Faster then an XR8 Sprint?

Also didn't the cobra come with 2 different engines?

Cobra came with the 302C and 351C.

ED Sprint should be listed as 15.0 - faster then the EBII S-XR6.

Wow, can't believe how crappy those 1/4 mile times are for all those 'supercars'.

America had all the fastest muscle cars, I remember reading somewhere there were 3 muscle cars from 1969 -1975 that ran 10 second 1/4 miles from the factory stock.

My near stock EF Futura (intake, exhaust) Manual ran a 15.7 1/4 which makes it just as fast as a Monaro HQ 350 GTS back in its prime.
Pretty embarrassing.

The Ray couldn't get near that.

The L88 Corvette was the fastest accelerating Corvette ever before the C5 Z06 came along in 2001, and that didn't run a 10. Especially since it got de-throned by a 12.5 second car.

i think we should remember these cars were built as circuit cars not DRAG cars, with a few minor tweaks they easily bettered those factory times..

Its a bit out of date... but a general guide. Nothing ran 10s. Ever. Stock in that era.

Hey guys I found it.

Check this out:

http://www.autofacts.ca/classics/fast.htm

1968 Plymouth S/S Barracuda - 10.5
1968 Dodge S/S Hemi Dart - 10.5
1969 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray 10.6

Seems like a credible source. But I'll leave the opinions up to you.
Theres my proof.

Not much this side of a super car does tens these days either.
It is not an easy task for a factory car.

Checking your own source...

http://www.autofacts.ca/classics/FAP...SBarracuda.htm

That's the 'cuda out. Race-prepped car that wasn't done by Chrysler.

Next up... Dart...

http://www.thehemi.com/notable.php?id=002

S/S (Super Stock) Dart. Not a production street car.

Finally... that Stingray...

http://www.autofacts.ca/classics/FAPC/ZL1Corvette.htm

The closest to being credible in any way, with a total production number of 2, is null and void of production car status (100+).

Like I said, no production muscle car ever did a 10.

Some choice quotes:

Quote:
The modified intake manifold causes a rich surging condition, misfiring and unstable engine operation in cold weather, which makes ordinary street driving extremely difficult and it is not recommended for this use.

Quote:
Does not conform to Motor Vehicle Safety Standards.

Tough as nails, i'd like one !

Mate 14.0@103mph, back in the 60's and 70's would of been considered very quick. Even a 14.0 today is still nothing to sneeze at.

I understand that the Bolwell Nagari in 302 form did 14.9 seconds and in 351 form did 13.8 seconds.
