I've been thinking of getting a computer gaming steering wheel for a couple of years and finally got one.
http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/ga...s/131&cl=au,en I started playing GT Legends - and have acquired GTR2. GTR Evolution and RFactor. (I'm gonna have fun come Christmas when I have 3 weeks leave). So I started using the keyboard on GT Legends, then I used the wheel tonight and it is so much better. I have been quite good on the keyboard and completed a number of driving games using the keyboard - including the drag races in NFS - it's hard to get the revs right on takeoff with a keyboard. I've read mediocre reviews on the cheaper wheels ($100) and figured if I'm gonna get one I'll pay for better quality ($265 from Computer Parts Land) and I'm pretty happy with it for the money. The G25 is very good for the money and is probably the best out there this side of $500 - where you start looking to the higher priced car simulator stuff. I'm sticking with the wheel paddles for gears at the moment, so I don't really use the separate shifter module. Pedals feel good, perhaps a little more resistance would improve realism, but that might test the limits of the excellent carpet grabbing spikes on the pedal base. You have to really give them a good shove to make them move. If it was to slip, considering I and most people put their desks near a wall, a piece of wood with rails attached and the pedal base placed inside could hold it in place and the piece of wood pushed up against the wall = it won't move around - or forward at least. Hard floors I can see it moving around. So if you are considering a steering wheel for your PC or Playstation, give this one a look.

It's a pity that the shifter isn't of the same quality as the wheel and pedals. Mine after only moderate use often gets stuck in the gate between 4th and 5th which essentially forced me to only drive 4 speeds in GT Legends.
Most other sims I change it to sequential which it does competently. Very nice wheel and pedals though, a must for racing simmers. |

yeah i have one too, had it over a year and still going strong. I agree the shifter is absolute crap. I've lost reverse, which is a very common problem. Something with the microswitch not being seated properly. just CBF opening it up and fixing it, becuase the aluminium paddle shifters feel oh so good =)
