Default Coupe Race Car Pictures

Hi all, I'm just interested in seeing what pictures people have of Coupe race cars, I'm about to have my coupe painted yellow and semi wondering if There were any Group C coupes that were yellow blaze that raced. I know of Ron Dickson's Pioneer Ear coupe which looks like Yellow blaze but I aint driving a giant ear down the road, even if it is a coupe. anyways, please feel free to add any pics you guys have, oh and if i have posted a picture of someone's replica, please let me know if you don't want the pictures shown and i'll remove them

Some Australian Muscle car magazine scans I have

Cheers (oh and before Pat gets it in... Go the coupes!!!)

Dave

i was thinking for a while about doing mine as a racer rep, particularly the goss XB as mines already white.. but then heathers car came about..
Been thinking about doing the BRUT 33 car, as thats always been my favourite.
Then again, there isn't an accurate replica of the goss xb in SA that i know of (including correct colours) so i might do that....

then there's the Melford car.. hmmm..

or i might spray it lime glaze..

It is due for a respray, so i might have to have a think about it. decisions decisions :

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but both those cars have already been done.
Do something original. Just my thoughts.

yep i know, as i'm sure pat (who has a goss rep and is doing a brutt rep) knows as well. Then theres all the mad max clones..

note the part where it says "in SA". Then again, if my neighbour had one, and i wanted one, i'd build it...

wouldn't be cool if Ford Aus. did factory drag cars back in the day like in the US... :evil3:

yeah that'd be pretty sweet!!! an XB coupe with a factory 427 SOHC motor! (*stops to wipe up drool*) hey you should do Moffat's Phoenix Falcon, the XB he built in six weeks after brut 33 was destroyed in the Sad-elaide hills.

I have a long way to go.

Saw your new coupe yesterday (hush hush) and it's starting to look the goods.
I'm considering getting one done for me as well and i've been told yours will be well & truly finished for Echuca and he may even have another finished to take as well.
Any news on the XA?

There is an awesome XC (not sure if it is the one pat Cob115 mentioned above)

It is yellow & maybe orange

Only saw one picture of it and i cant find it!!!!!! I am sure it was on the coupe cruise that was on in Adelaide mid last year. I love XAs personally but that XC was the best colour combination in a race coupe personally

My vote would be the stunning 79 Federation Falcon of Moffat, stunning looking car.

On a similar subject, coupes are now eligible for the Biante series, hopefully we will see a lot more on racetracks soon, I know John Bowe is trying to get one built.

Hi Dave, Hows your artistic skills? When it came to choosing paint for our coupe I sketched out heaps of different ideas and colour combos. By the end of it I was drawing coupes blind folded. But I quickly scribbled this out as to what you can do. The wilder and crazy the better. I know I settled for a common colour Monza Red but I've always wanted one just like "Helta Skelta's" coupe(featured in SM very long time ago) ever since I can remember. But I'll eventually do something more creative later on. But I think be different come up with your own design.
(sorry I didn't finish the pic, I lack interest in a picture as soon as another idea pops into my head).

^^^ That Coupe actually started out as the Ron Dickson Pioneer "Big Ears" XB from 1976 according to AMC Mag.

One very cool car!!

I don't blame you for deciding against that ear on the side. It's weird.

My fav is the XB. Don't know why. Just like the front

Can somebody tell me is a replica the same as what the yanks sometimes call a "tribute" car?

Or does the tribute car have the previous owners approval or something?

I'll second that.

The Federation XC is probably the nicest race car ever built.
Can't find any pictures though.
If I could get my hands on another XC Coupe I would definitely build a replica of that one.

AMEN!! That is the best looking coupe to ever grace a racetrack, along with the Dark Blue Murray Carter XB/XC with the Red and Yellow stripes!!

The idea crossed my mind when I was getting my coupe body done but I didn't have the budget to do it justice!!

I had never seen that EAR car before in my life. Nor had I heard of Moffat writing off a coupe in Adelaide hills?

Dave I don't think the ear looks too bad - boobs would be better of course - a lifesize playboy photo printed up the side of your coupe maybe?

So if I read that right, the Pioneer EAR car at the top - IS - James's 383 TT race car? I know its a real race car with heritage and stuff but can never remember when he says who used to race it, too close to the car to concentrate on words and such.

You didn't know about the fire? his transporter caught fire in the adelaide hills on his way to the first round, car burnt to the ground, he still competed at the event borrowing John Goss's XBGT, he built a new car in 6 weeks (i believe) and it was called the phoenix falcon. thats why there are no good photos of Brut 33 and all the work that was done to it in the US by Lee Dykstra. he competed in bathurst in the new car but it broke down after parts from the car in fire were used on the new car and failed :

there was a full issue on the car in aus muscle car magazine issue 26.
