Yes, the show got better in this season, the presenters are more relaxed and James Morrison is very likeable.
Two thing that make me mad are: the conversations feel very scripted- not natural and spontaneous (this puts all the "jokes" down) and the lack of aussie cars, if I want to see review of BMW or Evo I'd rather see the UK show

That's the thing but, what exactly are they supposed to test?
The way I see it, top gear is about high end cars, high performance, etc. What aussie cars are there in that bracket? FPV, HSV....TRD Aurion perhaps.... I think it'd be a very boring show if they just tested/drove aussie cars. I say bring on the lambos, BMWs, Chevies, etc. As long as they are getting into it on an AUSTRALIAN road, I see no problem! What they should do, is that the FPVs and HSVs to other countries. Much like the UK boys take cars to different places. Was a good show none-the-less. I enjoyed it and will be switching on next monday at 7:30.

I enjoyed the first episode of season 2 much more than any episode in season 1. James Morrison fits nicely into the role, before all three guys seemed to be of the same mould. Morrison seems a lot more calmer and sensible.
As for Aussie cars, that has been done. Next week they are testing some HSV i think? Would you really have wanted to see what that BMW 135i would have done to a F6 around the track!? |

The bits in between takes when the host kinda muck around with the audience is heaps better and would be funnier if they were allowed to just come up with stuff.. but even still i like it... its a car show on tv.... what else do we have..... that old glenn ridge drive show????

Thought it was not bad other than I can't believe they left the Lambo/jet-ski challenge so slow-paced. Didn't see the point of the Holden ad segment either, but then I have seen it before, also thought it was too long (both the ad and the segment).

ITs a free hours entertainment with 3 boofy blokes playing with cars. It doesnt pretend to be a serious in detail motor review or mechanical information show.
Cost me nothign to watch it, and its better than voting someone out of some silly house or island, or most of the other faff shown. I would rather it was on tv than not on and replaced by a show in Bognerslavian about a dead fish who solves crimes. Tho being SBS some girl may take her kit off for no reason at any time. It was much better than the first series, I thought the interaction between James and the other cast members was way better. far less pretentious and might I say it seemed far more laid back. Thank god that uptight bozo from last year is gone
I had a bit of a giggle at those poor bastards smashing themselves in the swell aboard that jetski. The look on Skaifies face, scripted or not, was worth doing the show for IMO. all in all, not a bad effort. Particularly considering the garbage TGA served up last season. Now lets see how some aussie muscle cars compare to the rest around that track of theirs. |

I am going to TGA on Tuesday 19th May and will be interesting to see it live. I share many of the sentiments here about TGA v TG UK. Been invited as a guest for one of our part suppliers.

went last night to the filming.
gee ur legs and back get sore lol, standing there for about 3 and a half hours but was ok. just wish that the would go with the stuff ups for the show and let the guys do their own writting or legging the conversations as it does seem so scripted. was amazed at the diversity of the crowd they got there, esp the guy/girl person that was in the crowd, sorta weird lol but it was a good experince any way |

Imo, a big improvement on last week, liked the holden segment at the start, the reverse race was pretty boring though, GOOD WORK TG AUS!!

I'm glad that they do seem to be trying to think of segments that TGUK haven't done yet.
I think last week was a great improvement over last year, and this week's was much more polished than last week. |

I thought they started to get their act together half way through last season.
This season has carried with the improvements. Adding James has been a step forward no doubt but the reviews and stories just continue to get better. This season has provided some great TV moments. The look on Skaife’s face for one. That’s a moment you pay to see, genuine and real. This week the sound of that supercharged Walkinshaw. I am sure there will be much debate about its times and relevance to the W427 at some point but of great value was the demonstration of form over function when it comes to big wheel tyre packages. That is a real demonstration that should make people think about performance packages. Well done Steve. Apart from the fuel force feed statement, a positive demonstration.

Actually the s/c wilky was not a bad price if you left out the 80's era bonnet scoop and 22" wheels and HSV brakes around 80k not too bad for a s/c car. Now if it wore a blue oval ...........
