Default Where/how is the cheapest way to get crate duratec 2.0 engines?

I was wondering what the best way to source crate engines and gearboxes. When I asked ford parts how much a new 2.0 duratec cost, they said $10K
I was horrifies, as have heard you can get these in the states for about 2K.

Do you need a new one? Why not just get a low km wreck? What is it for?

I use my fiesta xr4 for track days only and know that one day it is going to fail, so thinking of options for a replacement

1. rebuild mine when it goes $$$$
2. get a wrecked one and rebuild it or take my chances and bolt it in
3. get a brand new one.

Pumaspeed in the UK maybe?

Funny how the 2.3L Duratec motor is actually cheaper than the 2.0L one.

I thought they used the 1.6L Duratec in Formula Ford.

Ahh Ok .
I think your right. I don't have alot to do with Formula ford.
But I can find out if they are or not.
Ford gave them to him and he was going to use them in his sons escort but went with a mazda MX5 engine and gearbox instead.
