Default 1600 engine SA

Hey im looking for a 1600 engine for my MK1 Escort, i live in adelaide and can't find one anywhere, if anyone know where i might be able to get one please help, cheers

Now I dont want to tell you how to suck eggs - so ignore if you already know

the only difference with the 1600 over the 1300 is the bottom end- it is an inch higher than the 1300 - your alternator, distributer starter etc will be the same. the late model 1600 came with twin barrel webers as standard or you can an early GT manifold (I have one - going cheap if you need one)
so my point is look around - even if you only find a block - unless you are looking for a good runner
if you get desperate over there, try Edgar Haines at FjordFord in Mordialoc 9587 1588 or Yesterford in Ringwood

Contact the cortina and capri car club in SA. Theres a guy there called Henry Jones tha wrecks cortina and escorts. Specialises in Kent Engines.
