Default 2nd gen iPod

Why won't my second gen iPod work in my ws zetec? My iPhone does but with a few complications. Any one with ideas?

I got my cable from ford. My iPhone works ok most of the time.

IIRC the 2nd Generation iPod still used a Firewire connection and not USB? Perhaps for this reason it may not be supported. I found this, which mentions no support for the 2nd Generation iPod. My advice, get a new one and store that baby as it'll be worth a fortune one day if it's still in good condition! Mine is locked away with all my other iPods

Thanks for that info. It sounds like thats the problem, that Ipod has been in the draw for years. still as good as new. I just wanted to leave it connected in the car at all times, just being lazy.
