Just to help me mate,
Other day he installed a cd player into his series 1 au, smartlock, When he goes to play the cd player it cuts the power to the mirrors, Hes has gone over every possible reason and still cant work out whats going wrong. Can any one shed any light on this Cheers matt

He has put the red thingy into the left green springet box thingamajigs entrance hole.

Hi take out the stereo and check if the mirrors work then wire it up using these colors
POWER 12V+BATT YELLOW 12V+ACC PURPLE/RED GRND BLACK 12V+ILL BROWN ANT TRIG RED/BLUE MUTE PALE GREEN SPEAKERS FL+ ORANGE/GREEN FL- ORANGE/BLACK FR+ GREY/GREEN FR- GREY/BLACK RL+ PINK/GREEN RL- PINK/BLACK RR+ BLUE/RED RR- BLUE/BLACK The front left + wire might be plain orange Cheers MD

car had a stock tape player, as series one came out with them

mirrors were working fine before the cd player install, like i said we have gone over and over it,
wouldnt be security related issue is it???

u should of just brought a wireing harness no cutting for wires needed thats all i did

i got my jvc installed bye auto barn for 60 bucks, wasnt there to see them do it as it was for my birthday present, and i have no issues at all

i just went to supercheap, bought an AU addaptor then cut the wires to the addaptor and soldered them to the plug that came with my head unit.
Point is i never changed anything on the car, so if i destryed something it can be easily replaced |
