So whats everyone getting as an average on their fiesta's?
With mostly city, stop start driving, and a little 80-100km/h driving in an average tank... We are getting around 6.3-6.5ltrs/100km with an avg speed per tank of around 40km/h (this is with a mix of sedate and sporty driving styles and hills) Now with 14,500kms on the clock. What are you all getting? Last edited by GoesLikeAZetec; 02-07-2010 at 09:08 PM. |

Great thread Troy. Now most of us have had our MK7 Fiestas for a while, it's a great chance to be able to gather some true data for new Fiesta drivers, and great to hear from our ECOnetic drivers about their economy and our WP/WQ drivers! I seem to have gotten a great car. Right from the get go, with under 100km on the clock I was getting high fives, and on a few stretches of hiway high fours. Over the past year (yep, we celebrated one year last weekend!) I would say very low fives to low sixs, with a good mix of all types of driving, different roads, city and hiway, it's been a bloody ripper of a car. Only in the past few weeks have I been getting high sixes, it's being serviced on Monday so hopefully we'll get a new ECU upgrade and a good service. Very happy with my economy though.

According to Gas Hog on my ipod, I'm getting 7.1L/100km costing 10¢/km in the last 35000km.
I would be interested to see if the economy readout matches a calculated economy every fill.

Justto confirm, the figures I have quoted are what the fuel economy readout sayson the car. They are a little off as a few have said,I think about five percent.

Yeah the stop start traffic kills the economy... on a brand new fuel tank with a 60-80kmh range on free flowing roads on a weekend... we were getting
5.2-5.4ltrs easy... and like danny said, its going to be a little out... if the speedo is out a little as well, i guess its not surprising... |

my 2004 WP Zetec gets around 6-7 litres per 100, which im very happy with considering the short trips to school i do (around 5 mins, majority of time just sitting at lights) car doesnt even get a chance to fully warm up anymore... however i have seen well under the 6's. thats with 106000kms on the clock. very happy.

7.6 for my manual 4-door zetec looks bad (95 RON) but only 3k so far, all in short city trips in Sydney's very hilly Eastern Suburbs & lower North Shore.
Yes I need to get out. |

Almost at 12 months and after 15500kms my average is 8.95l/100km with a best of 7.40l/100km and a worst of 9.81l/100km. My wife is the main user of the car and it's 80% used during peak hour traffic with average speed at 32-33km/hr.
Oh yeah and it's and Auto.................... |

On the way from Brisbane to the Sunshine Coast I was getting an average of 5.0 l/100km with an average speed of 84km/h. Got it's 15,000 service today, and it does feel a little bit more loose so hopefully the trip home is even better. I drove an ECOnetic again today, and I really think that shift indicator should on all models. It's great, and really helps with getting your car to be hugely efficient.

I average around 8.0. Mainly stop/start driving tho :(
Hopefully after I get these new tires and a badly needed wheel alignment it might improve

So on the way back to Toowoomba I was getting 5.4l/100km. Happy with that because I had my boot packed, plus the trip up here is an incline so the Fiesta has done well. Not sure if they updated the ECU though.

Dad drove my car for a week and he got it to 5.5L/100km manually calculated. Is the latest ECU update worth getting?
