Default 79 crotina

Hi guys new to the forum wondering if any one can give me some info on my 79 cortina only just baught it about four weeks ago still got the original 2L motor but eventually want to look at putting a 4.1 in wana keep with carby feed was just wondering what the best moddle cross flow is to track down was thinking of getting something out of a xd or xe or is there something better i should try and track down thanks heaps for any info.

hi mate

i understand you like to keep to an old six ....i would put the ba xr.6. turbo motor in for better economy and beter h/p
but if you want old school ..go the xe six ...i think its one of the better ones .by far.

IIRC someone has made a 4 barrel manifold for the 3.9 - 4.0 OHC engine.....

I agree the BA option would be best, give you better fuel economy and power as said. May cost a bit for it though - If you do choose to go with the old style, ive seen 4.1 crossflows (most recent one was from an XC i think) popping up on ebay for $100 / $150 buyout, people making GT replicas, or doing V8 conversions on their XC/XD/XE etc dump them cheap.

also shouldnt be hard because the cortys did come with that engine in them.
