Hi all,
Last October we were returning to Melbourne from Cooma. Filled up at Cooma and took the Monaro Highway towards Cann River. After about 100 + Km we were dropping down the escarpment with the car in over-run and having to be braked from time to time to keep within reasonable sight of the posted speed limit. Saw a DTE figure of 1582 km a couple of times So if you have a tale to tell, let us all know what you have seen in your car. Clearly not going to achieve that figure, but we did get home with a half full car (I'm an optimist ) after 650 Km approx of travel. Nice road to drive as well. Cheers

Ah diesel........
But XR5 Turbo MB petrol showing >900km a number of times (not uncommon). Seems to depend on how much downhill running you do. e.g. Clyde Mtn to Batemans Bay, Kangaroo Valley to Nowra, or down to Wollongong via Robertson. Pure freeway running at constant speed is extremely economical as well. Scored another 0.2 reduction in average consumption last trip (3000km out of clocked 15000k) now showing average 8.6lt/100km at avergae speed 59km/h...since new. Unfortunately, mileage estimate 're-adjusts' on the way back up the mtn. .... he he he |
