Hey all,
Its time for a service on my Girlfriend's 06 Zetec Fiesta. It has done 89,000 km What oil should be best for her car? Nothing way to expensive, something suitable as she does ALOT of driving and the next service would be very soon anyway haha. Also, what would be the best spark plugs? Thank you in advance ;) |

I've used Castrol edge 5-30w since new. Get it at Supercheap when they have a sale.

Used it in both my 06 Zetec and now in the XR4 without any problems .. have done just over 75,000km in the XR4 over the last 4 years .. no engine issues at all during that time. NGK list a plug for the 1.6 WQ Fiesta .. part number PTR5A-13 .. or just get the genuine Motorcraft ones from your local Ford Dealer. |

Thanks guys, Ended up getting Castrol edge 5-30w.
Ill save the spark plugs and air filter on its 100k service.. (as it probably wont be soon). Anyone know what is required on the 100k service? Thank you. |

If a timing belt snaps it's big dollars to fix the engine! |

I'm going to hi-jack this thread , my WS Fiesta is now a year old & is due for it's 15000km service, thing is I haven't even done 9000km, should I wait til I get a bit closer to 15000km or have it done now?

Does it feel like it needs a service? The way I can tell on the Focus is if it's shuddering slightly when idling even when warm, and the auto holds onto the gears a bit too long.
My wife's in an even worse situation than you, as her car is a year old but only done 4000km... To me it doesn't feel like it needs a service, especially after I gave it a good workout when she thought it was starting to idle roughly.

I could be wrong but I think to keep the car under warranty it's every 12 months or 15K, if you go over your warranty is void. That said Fords warranty is fairly meaningless anyhow.
