Nobody may have been hurt. It might have been parked unoccupied at a mine site and either got backed over or rolled into the pit. But if anyone can confirm that someone was killed or seriously injured perhaps the mod could delete the thread.

If somebody was killed or badly injured in it, what I’d be interested to know is who cleans the blood and body debris out of the vehicle.

Is it done prior to auction or does the new owner do it?

When my son was killed in a car accident the car was covered and held in an impounding yard. After the inquest it was crushed.

Sorry, but I have cut many, many seriously hurt (and deceased) people from cars that have minimal/no blood.

Blood doesn't always equal death.

All I said was have some respect - no one knows how it happened. Posts like 'normal wear and tear' and then mocking those that ask you to show some respect are not really appropriate... are they?

I'm sorry for your loss, but that only goes to show that you really should know better.

If not for yourself, but for others that may have lost loved ones in accidents.

That is the correct engine rpm for that given speed. Have been there many times. If it was freewheeling the revs wouldnt be spot on?

Big enough impact stops them where they were at the hit so the manufacturer doesn't get the blame???

I think it's actually to do with how the gauges work - if you remove power to them, they don't return to zero like traditional mechanical gauges used to. A sudden cut in power on impact and they probably stay where they were last at.

There was nothing to be respectful of, there was no evidence shown in the link that any injuries had occurred, just a badly damaged vehicle.

The fact a thread poster mentioned someone may have been injured or killed doesn’t make it so.

Without coping mechanisms and being able to laugh we’d all be hung up like you.

And when you get to 76 like me you’ll find death is a big part of life and frequently occurring around you, it's not something hidden in a cupboard not to be talked or joked about.

That’s not something I’m aware of.

My son’s car was in the Police impounding yard and it sat there covered with a tarp for months.

There had to be an inquest as he hit a tree after his girlfriend broke up with him and suicide was a factor.

I was present at the accident site and I can tell you the car was a mess in the worst kind of way and the image of the interior will go to the grave with me.

It was upsetting for my wife and our family to know it was sitting in the yard for so long and as soon as the inquest was over I asked the police what could be done about it.

They had a truck pick it up and it was sent to a crusher.



I would have torn someone a new one if it had been sent to auction or to be parted out.

And ‘usernametaken’ thinks I’m disrespectful.

No one hoses them out - that's tampering

Fire brigades will only wash away blood etc... off the road after MCI have finished taking photos and measurements.

The cars are left alone to be towed to impound yards for analysis.

Ok your answer makes the most sense, but I'm used to Gauges returning to zero if the power is removed, but I still don't think it could be an accurate measure of time of impact, as you say wheel spin,
