Hey everyone!
Our 2009 Fiesta (manual) is having a few issues; Has 125k km on the clock Have owned since new always serviced on time and run 98 fuel in it. On start up (cold starts) it is very rough, like it wants to stall but doesn't and just very average in general. If its been running or gone for a drive, then left for an hour or so it will be fine on next start up but pretty much when leaving over night it has this issue. Also on start up it comes up with 'ESP off' every time for 3-5 seconds then goes away.... Battery is less than two years old also. If anyone has a idea on what could be causing this, that would be very helpful! Thankyou in advance all! |

If it's rattling for 30 seconds it could be a hydraulic lash adjuster (lifter), so the valve timing would bit a bit off and cause the rough running. Sometimes an oil and filter change can fix these sorts of problems, but if it's had regular on time servicing, shouldn't be so much of an issue.
I seem to remember there was a TSB or something similar about rough idle for the first few seconds after a cold start - forgot the details, and can't remember where that came from though... might be worth asking the question of your Ford dealer though. |
