Second vaccination just done, I asked the nurse a few questions.

She’s been vaccinating people since March and has lost count (this disappointed me)! Not a single adverse reaction after leaving the room, requiring medical intervention. That’s pretty good proof of how the weeding-out processes have worked and also vaccine safety. Plenty of “felt rotten the next day” stories after first AstraZeneca, her feedback on the second dose of this, was that most had a negligible reaction.

Being a community medical centre I asked them for a printout, it was no problem. So even if the electronic notification has a fail, I’ve got paper proof.

Digression

I used to have “peyot”. Not extravagant ones, but they were cultivated deliberately. When I had to change hairdressers, I then went to an old Greek bloke in Enmore, who I’d found in a Reddit discussion on traditional barbers in Sydney. First time I sat in the chair, the bugger snips my peyot off! How could I be mad - he was interpreting me as he saw, and that is what I had contracted him to do.

Over the years, we have developed a strong and cordial relationship, I perhaps see him as extended family. He is still cutting hair, along with a couple of his mates - all well past seventy. It might sound odd, but they are actually one of the reasons I signed up for vaccination - I didn’t want to see them at risk of developing Covid from clients.

Hopefully I can sit in that chair again soon, it will be good to catch up and get shorn!

Well all done am now officially vaccinated to Australian Standard C19.
And like CB I have an official Govmint printout, dates for both shots, and type of vaccine.
I asked nurse if I could have it in colour!
She said no!...I said bummer!

Asked her and my GP about a 3rd booster shot, he just said your covered and that's all that matters, I say cool bananas, and how's the " All Blacks " doing, he said **** off Billy!...lol, he's funny.

Qantas SYD-DRW-LHR has apparently sold out from 01/11 to Christmas. That didn't take long.

Not sure what PER Airport is going to do with all that infrastructure that was put in place for QF09/10.

Took phone call from my Sydney solicitor about me having to see a NSW Workcover accredited medical specialist, me flying to NSW is out of the question, this cannot be done by video, he thinks they can find an accredited doctor in Qld, and fly him to Perth if the WA borders allow it, mmm, they had this organised for me to fly to Sydney in April 2020!

This is about a very severe back injury L4-L5 disc in 1989?
I never received a monetary payout due to needing more surgery later on, I was off work until 1996 mainly due to 2 more extra surgeries to my cervical spine 4 months apart in 1993, so after lumbar surgery in 1991, I thought great back to work in 1993, dident happen, needed L4 to S1 fusion.

Whilst wearing a full upper body cast to stabilise my lumbar region, to prove I needed to be fused ( I still need it ) it damaged my cervical spine, not easy sleeping in a body cast for 3 months.
So after 2 posterior cervical surgeries over 4 months in 1993, I was not allowed to work for 4 years, then I could be lumbar fused, then I sue under common law, my neurosurgeon passed away in 1996, and I got my referring GP to release me to go backto work, everytime I contacted GIO to organise my surgery, they threw every excuse available to fuse my lumbar spine at me, now I suffer cauda equina syndrome, my solicitors who are fighting this are also fighting for my rights to sue James Hardie for the lung cancer, by pure accident they realised I lost 7 years of work, 1989 to 1996 and was not compensated for it, they decided to fight for my rights as an Australian worker, good on em, but flying a doctor to Perth to see me for one hour is just unbelievable really, but each State has its own system, it's crazy really, like covid?

As long as the majority of cases don’t end up in Hospitals and ICU then that’s the best outcome. With majority of citizens now double vaxxed and fast approaching 80% overall vaccination rate, the science tells us that most infections should be mild and manageable without any medical intervention for the vaxxed. I imagine the booster shot program will start rolling out soon as some have been vaxxed since August.

It is what it is and we’ve all done our best to cope and manage thus far. It’s time to start moving on slowly now without lockdowns and restrictions and start living something resembling normal again.

If the vaccine does its job, then there is no need to be worried? All eyes on hospitilisation and mortality rates now. I thought the unspoken strategy with vaccine was essentially to allow the community to reach herd immunity safely.

I've already accepted that I, and my elderly parents, will catch the virus sooner or later. You can only hope the vaccine stops it developing into the disease.

I can't believe there were hair salons and pedicures opened at midnight. Apparently some hair dressers are now booked out till Christmas.

When the bars and clubs re-open, think it'd be wise to wait a few weeks. There will be a fair few riff raffs running amok I reckon.

I was asking her why the **** she didn't take the day off but she was saying impossible to get into a hair salon

I understand the feeling, still a long line to get a haircut here even on the **** end in Canberra. If I can't get one here there's no point looking anywhere else

I will be happy when we reach the 80% when all retail opens up properly and we can travel regional, then I can go see my kids/grand kids.

I wish I was also in the "no luckdown club", but unfortunately I am still in lockdown, and there are many like me down here in Mexico, that is until we hit 80% DV or probably in another week.

In my business, half are in still in lockdown and the other half are not.

Our business is classified as "non-essential or general retail", and is restricted.

Now when people think of "retail" or "retailers", that quickly brings to mind having some sort of "shop front" open to the public.

This is not always the case, and our business does not have a shopfront or retail outlet.

Our business involves going into customers homes, quoting, measuring up, and installing products.

While up to 10 visitors are now allowed in homes, those of us in this "retail" category are not allowed to go into homes to measure, quote and take orders, which is considered retail sales in homes.

However, those in our company that do the actual installations of the products sold, are allowed to go into homes, as that is considered being a tradesman and home renovations and construction is now allowed.

A crazy situation I must say.

We have been hard lobbying the state government over this, but they refuse to budge.

What is the difference of having 10 people in your home, (which do not have to be vaccinated), throwing a party, but not allowing a single person into your home taking all Covid precautions, being double vaccinated (mandated now in retail in Vic as of yesterday), wearing a mask, etc, to quote, sell and measure up?

I understand the reasoning behind not opening up "retail" until the 80% double vaccination figure is hit, as to not open everything up at 70%, and to "space things out", but the rules do not always make logical sense.

Yeah mate understand it completely. We went through the same BS in the ACT but they caught on eventually when we were spending our pesos over the NSW border instead of in the ACT

Maybe VIC gov will catch on soon. Totally stupid **** going on mate.

Well second shot was the same, been awake on and off all night, so that one thing affected me with both Pfizer vaccinations!
