Thats a pretty dam good price. Mines insured for a similar amount but considering all the extra stuff your getting (Sound deadening, cables and the install) that a really really good price.

You might want to look at getting a beter alternator too. Im running 800w RMS, ~3000w Peak but with gains set right down and the alternator can't handle it after around 66% volume (But that all depends of how you set your gains). What kind of power will you be running?

Can't wait to hear yours out and compare the two cars. Might even pursuade me to get the doors deadened.

Yeah, this guy was saying, he has cars come in from other places, with 10k systems in them, no sound deadening. He said a $4k system with sound deadening will kill a 10k system without. He endeavoured to explain why, I lost him in all the technical stuff...

Wow wow wow! This is gonna be good Swaytan. Unfortunately it will never reach its potential when youre blaring death metal noise and static lol. Get into some house and electro music, then you'll see just what a good system you have lol! JK Congrats mate

Pfft house & electro music, lol. My girlfriend is a raver from way back, she'll have something.

And actually, the stuff I listen to is recorded & produced really really well. I don't listen to music without good production value.

I listen to a lot of metal with a lot of keyboards, abmience & electronica, can't wait!

Simple reason sound deadening help is so your fronts create more mid bass. Mine don't and I have a mid bass gap but this has been largly taken out playing with the crossover points and equiliser. But the overall quality of the tweeter + response of cone is way more important unless you wanna run 10million DB.

'The Fragile' by Nine Inch Nails tends to sort the men from the boys when it comes to car audio. I still haven't heard a system that can play a couple of songs from that album without distortion.

You're right, Nine Inch Nails would be a great testing CD, that guy is a phenomenal producer. NIN though are not really my cup of tea.

Are you familiar with Nevermore? They are engineered & produced by Andy Sneap, and Mr. Sneap is without any doubt the best sound engineer in the world when it comes to metal.

I've actually got a CD ready to go for the first time I try the new setup. It consists of:

Cypress Hill
Eminem
Esteban - Spanish Flamenco Guitarist
Nevermore - Heavy/Progressive Metal
Soilwork - Swedish Melodic Death Metal
Strapping Young Lad - American Electro Metal
Fear Factory - American Electro Metal
The Tea Party - Experimental Alternative Rock
Xzibit
Enya - Yes that's right, Enya, but being a vocalist myself I can appreciate talent. The production on her albums is amazing too.
U2
Ascension of the Watchers - Ambient
Behemoth - Polish Death Metal
The Berzerker - Australian Grindcore
Madball - Hardcore

Wild! I thought I was the only guy in the Southern Hemisphere that knew who Strapping Young Lad were. My taste lately switches from progressive metal like Dream Theater and Ayreon to ultra heavy stuff like SYL or hardcore bands like The Dillinger Escape Plan.

If you can appreciate vocal talent then surely you'd know of Mike Patton? Fomerly of Faith No More and Mr Bungle, now he has his fingers in plenty of pies including Fantomas, Tomohawk, worked with Bjork and now has a new project called Peeping Tom. All so goddamn highly recommended!

Yup, big Patton fan. Faith no More is one of my fav all time bands, the other projects I can only listen to in small doses for comic value. I still appreciate the musicianship of those guys though, freaks...
