Default Steering feeling tight?

I was driving this morning in my S3 XR8 when the steering seemed to "tighten up", not the smooth flow with power steering. The power steering fluid, belts etc are ok and it certainly is working but seems "stiffer" some how? Just weird. The tyre pressures are OK and I have not hit any bumps. Just seemed to tighten up all of a sudden. Any ideas?

hmmmm ... maybe an internal fault with the steering rack ... sound strange that it did that all of a sudden.

Unless something may have fault or come undone (causing undue stress on the steering).

Got mine checked just then, the rack is fine as are all hoses etc. Looks like mine might be a blocked valve in the pump or something.

if there is any slack in the uni-joint at the bottom of the steering shaft under the bonnet, and if its getting a bit dry ( needs a bit of grease ) / there is maybe a chance the uni-joint could of seized up a bit and locked into the slack. Maybe try grease it up a tadd then move the steering column up and down and back and forwards inside the car too a few times , just a suggestion , ? cheers .
