Mate before you go and spend anything on a lease and more overheads, I'm guessing you would have a garage at home, try the weekend option first for a while, build up a regular clientelle. When it gets to the point where you cannot keep up with your regular job and your own work at home then look at going it on your own fully.

The best thing about doing it this way is you can have some extra pocket money now, whether you save that towards a place in the future or spend it is up to you, but I would put as much aside as possible as all the money you can get your hands on is never enough when you first start up any business. The other good thing is that if things don't exactly go to plan you have your current job to fall back on, especially in the slow periods when your private work might dry up for a few weeks and not much comes in from that.

But as everyone lese has said, be prepared for long hours, less sleep and much higher stress.

Again good luck with whatever you do though.
