Good stuff. Those Lasers are not a bad bit of gear at all. A mates girl friend had one for years, looks exactly the same lol. It was super reliable and nice to drive.

Looks tidy, you can pick those up real cheap these days, the BEST ones go for about $1500-$2000. You can find bits for them on the street.

It is going to cost us the princely sum of $400. Now you cant beat that.

What's the go, John? I can't see Stephanie being too happy with such a girly (or even late model) car.

I know. The Last words to come out of her mouth last week about cars was and I quote "I do not wont anything that small" although she was talking about a smart car. I guess that's what i get for taking here to the motor show.

Good move BJ, they're incredibly cheap to run! My gf's Meteor (same 1.6L 5spd drivetrain as Stephanie's Laser) travelled from Morwell to Geelong & back on the weekend, including a bit of driving around in Melbourne, & it only went through $40 of fuel.

A perfect first car for her ;)

Those Lasers are great little cars. My first car was one of the last model KE Lasers, had it for 5 years and it ended up with 189,000kms on the clock, at the time I drove around a lot for work and it only ever let me down once. It has been 3 years since I sold it and now my girlfriend is looking for a small car to get her to work and home in, I really wish I kept it so she could use it.

So I take it that fibreglass bonnet is just about ready to come off the garage wall then? It might not be the exact same red, but it never matched the XC either, did it?

I sense a monster in the works.

Sigma haha!

Mazda has a performance "BPT" motor or something you could drop in too. My mate did it in his AWD TX3 *hint hint* I wouldn't mind one for a run-about.

For 400 bucks, you can't go wrong! :P
