I have the normal CD player, I'm trying to use coat hangers to remove it. One side they have locked in. However on the other they keep going in past the others then they get to a point where they compress something, but it just bounces back. I don't get it.

Autobarn is a good place too start, or maybe a hammer. Nope, sorry, cant help, I tried mine for about 2 hours, before taking it to autobarn.

You sort of have to angle them pointing slightly outwards when you insert them. Then when they click into place, you apply outwards pressure (ie in the direction of each of the front doors) to the wire bits, and the CD should just slide out. If this doesn't work, then try an audio installer (autobarn would do), and if that still doesn't work, then the hammer is about it.

I used a screwdriver to pop the face off the headunit then I could see what I was doing and used small screwdrivers instead of coathanger wire

I'm in Wollongong. I can't seem to do it with coat hangers. If I can't do it with coat hangers not sure I'd be able to do it with butter knives. I may have to go to ford...

mate I removed my mates out of his au using allen keys, need 4 around the same size or something else that wont bend (coathangers are no use).

You can also use the connecting rods that you get in central locking kits with the motors. Thats what I use. Wurth also make a removal tool especially for it as well, bit pricey though.
But yeah when you do remove it, as said above, apply pressure to whatever you are using outwards towards the doors.
